Very very sad. Far too young. Jenni was rare at BBC: an iconic Woman's Hour presenter who knew what a woman is. So they dumped her. RIP. With love and admiration.

Terrible, tragic news. She was the best. Treated really badly by the BBC after she dared to speak out about you know what. She was absolutely disgusted with the powers that be. Maybe it will all come out now. Jenni was a true journalist, no one quite like her.

It’a funny how the death of someone you didn’t know is saddening. She let me say “hold in a fart” on WH to explain how to #DoYourPelvicFloorExercises. That led to my first complaint from professional peers who thought I was vulgar. They weren’t wrong, and neither was Dame Jenni.

Very sorry to see that Jenni Murray has died - as a trainee producer I was dispatched to BBC Southampton in 1984 and worked with her in the newsroom. She was whip smart, always cut through the BS, and her journalism was guided by empathy bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
