my thing with McMorrow and El Sayed is that Michigan voted for trump 2x and I really do think you need a more moderate (but still progressive!) candidate there

Color me shocked that the Very Online Candidate with no experience and no real campaign strategy beyond "get likes on the internet" ended up losing a Democratic primary to the incumbent mayor of Evanston, Illinois.

Of all the people yelling at Bushra Amiwala, the brown Muslim woman, almost none shouted at the male candidates Phil Andrew and Mike Simmons. None yelled at Kat (the white girl who carpetbagged into the district) to make an effort to reach out to Bushra.

If Kat really wanted to beat Daniel "this victory belongs to J Street" Biss, why WOULDN'T she reach out to the local leftists??? I have already suggested that her profile and her track record (such as it is) indicates that she may be a plant who served as dummy enemy for AIPAC.

I know many have a one-track mind of obsession with the President, but I’m interested in the long-term interest of Virginians. 1. Illinois & other blue states were gerrymandered long before Texas acted. And even if Texas was the impetus, California has already gerrymandered to counteract TX. 2. The Democrats’ proposed map in VA would be literally the most extreme gerrymander in the nation. 3. VA is different than these other states, in that we went out of our way in 2020, taking the high road, to get politics out of redistricting. We shouldn’t reverse that. 4. Claiming this is temporary is absurd — you’re telling me that if these succeeds and we have 4 new Democrats in Congress from VA, they’ll just give up their seats come 2030? Please. 5. We shouldn’t have zero competitive congressional elections and silence the voices of millions of Virginians. Put Virginia first.
