If the refs are gonna call games like they did in the Magic series the Pistons will win this series vs the Cavs. If they’re gonna let teams play defense I think the Pistons are gonna bring massive energy now that they got this series off their back. Might be Pistons in 6.

@Halbridious The only thing I remember like this was Sean Sweeney coming in as a “defensive guru”. But I never see someone else calling out plays from the bench besides head coaches (in any NBA game). I agree 100% , tho, JB needs some offensive creativity on that bench fast.

@mufcpod Some teams do, some don't. Part of it is that theres such a connection between both ends and transition and how you balance that you can't have competing philosophies like football. But also it's largely a control issue with head coaches.

JB if you don't hire an OC in the offseason you're going to risk the same fate.

When your normal players are this dead this is when you play Ron Holland. Hustle Man doesn’t get out worked.

@KuKhahil @movedmypivot He's only at 37%? I get he's much younger than Tobias but their stat lines aren't too different. Why are you so big on him (genuine question, not trolling). Also, what would you expect the trade for him would have to be. HOU doesn't seem like a seller.

i think it’s time pretty clear what the pistons need to do to truly take the next step 1. high volume shooting 4 w rebounding ability 2. secondary creation w off ball equity

@Brady_Fred The sin was not doing something impactful, not pushing all your chips in. Guys like Dosunmu were there to be had. Schroeder, White, there guys available who would have helped us win a series or two, and everything Trajan said there would still be true.

Trade everyone not named Cade. That’s where I’m at now, in the span of a week. I’m so depressed about the future of this team now.s

Duncan Robinson gets Bane in the air on the pump fake, doesn’t shoot, tries to drive, and travels. Every player on this team is completely useless.

I’m not sure why that’s not a foul on DCL on Yoro but whatever. Still gonna win 4-2.

JB Still the COTY, but my God some of his decisions to not challenge what appear to be certain successes for ones that are CLEARLY destined to lose is a massive chink in his armor. Hire a new iPad guy or start prioritizing your players over timeouts. Ausar too valuable to ignore

It's a hard pill to swallow that Trajan was already satisfied with the result of this season, and didn't want to "skip steps". Cavs and Thunder as use cases, I guess. Neither team went to Finals in early stages. Incremental gains each year, trade here, FA there. Might be R2 exit.

@KuKhahil JB included. He has to start trying some new things. Heurter has to get integrated here somehow. Lanier, something. Watching these other teams just run what feels like dozens of shooters at us is infuriating. Not sustainable down the stretch here. But I’ll take a W, sure.

Ugly game. Should never find yourself in this situation. Without Harden/Mitchell, should not have taken this. With that said: incredible resiliency and fight to make the comeback with Cade Cunningham fouled out. Never gave up. They’ll take the W, but some guys gotta wake up.

@MarcRyanOnAir I don't feel like they're being criticized for the same thing, personally. Harper was always a Pete Rose personality. Brash, 100% all the time, flashy in his play and emotion. This sort of presentation from Clark seems far more superficial than the passion and flair of Bryce. IMO

@mufcpod I don’t. Bryce Harper was that way, and still is. Max should have no concern what you or others think.

This was one of the more frustrating plays from the Spurs game and goes back to what I've said for a long time: more important than just adding shooters to the team is for the current personnel to execute on spacing principles. You're on the floor with Ron Holland, who everyone should be aware will have a defender roaming/sagging off. Why is Javonte Green, one of the few guys shooting above 35% from deep on this team, operating in the dunker spot? *This one is very much not on Paul, but still* Reed rolls right to a paint that already has someone there. Why is Ron the player relocating to the corner for a kickout? In a lineup that is "theoretically" supposed to offer more spacing for Cade, you have two guys who shoot 35% from deep (I'm reaching a bit with Paul here, but you get the point), both standing on the blocks while Cade is driving? Where is the outlet for Cade? This lineup should have wing/wing/corner spacing for a Cade PnR, with Ron probably in the oppo corner. If anyone should be cutting along the baseline to try and take advantage of a helping/sleeping defender, it should be Ron. The Pistons team doesn't have a bunch of shooting, yes, but the much, much bigger deal for this team is recognizing that and consistently being crisp with your spacing principles BECAUSE of that.

I was laughing to myself at the end of the half when Brunson had Ausar, called a screen to get a Cade switch, got the switch, then called another screen to get the Duncan switch, Cade blew up the switch and Brunson just said “nah” and gave it up lol

@RasslinWalrus @FDSportsbook I'll show you a real ceiling once this team actually gives Cade a real second creator on offense. Dude hasn't even approached his ceiling yet. Man gets triple-teamed every night and in 1st place.
