@cremieuxrecueil Lots of good answers here. I agree it has flavours of pedantry, sophistry and triviality, but those generally assume good faith, if misguided, argumentation. I’ve also heard it called a “triviality tackle” when it’s used as a bad faith debating tactic.

What's it called when you make an argument with multiple points, built on lots of different evidence, and someone pointlessly quibbles with one unimportant aspect of one piece of it?

“What seems to be the trouble?”, the typical opening when visiting “Doc”. Dr. Vern Rogstad was in solo practice in Watson from 1960 until his death in 1994. This pic is from 1970. Today is #FamilyDoctorDay in SK … we were lucky, that was every day for us. 😉🩺❤️

@br___ian @soundrotator If you can find someone in your area who practices/teaches Alexander technique, that is the precise right answer to the “who do I see” question.

I'm pretty sure the way I sit is wrong. I think the muscles that are supposed to give you that slight curve forward in your lumbar spine don't engage, so my attempts at posture are awkward and brief I would like to pay someone to look at me try to sit

@slmimorgan @mufferaw @the_transit_guy You don't know what the fuck you are talking about or anything about SF. I am local and do have lived in SF and do work in SF. I'm not interested in your bizarre agenda, whatever the hell it is. We're done here.

It took NINETEEN years to plan, approve, and build 1,100 housing units (550 affordable) on a parking lot in San Francisco, and apparently it's a hot take for thinking this should take quicker to happen.

@slmimorgan @otactk85 @the_transit_guy It’s 4 miles from City Hall. It’s a residential neighborhood with services, transpo, schools. We want more neighbors and I’m glad the people you mention will benefit. Well, not the pols, we agree there. But my friends and kids need places to live and this will be a good one. 🤷‍♂️

@mufferaw @otactk85 @the_transit_guy It is far out from the city center. Also, the map of SF does not line up with the image. Screenshot the area being proposed for development from google maps. Seems like Whole Foods will benefit. Developers, architects, investors, bankers, realtors & pols will benefit.

@otactk85 @slmimorgan @the_transit_guy Me too! @slmimorgan is starting to sound like a bot/troll. The area isn’t “far out,” it’s right by BART, MUNI J Line, City College and 280, and a growing commercial corridor that would benefit from more neighbors.

@slmimorgan @the_transit_guy That’s definitely not SOMA. Look at the area just outside the footprint in question. It’s residential houses. There is no part of SOMA that looks like that. Has to be further out like Excelsior or that area.

@AmericanGwyn “The high, bright moon bearded their jaws in shadow” is an unequivocally fantastic sentence. (Source: being a fiction reader.)

Some days, being a fiction writer means reworking a single sentence over and over and still not being satisfied with it. A maddening and marvelous vocation. Grateful I get to do this for a living.

@EricLuke2 Walked many of of those cliffs and shores with my sister at about that time. We often wondered how the sheep kept from falling down to the water—apparently not all of them did!

Not enough people are aware that Ben Nichols (of Lucero) did an entire solo album about Cormac McCarthy’s BLOOD MERIDIAN and that it’s very, very good.
