In the last 1½ yrs Makueni County Gvt has constructed several earth dams that will provide water for agriculture and domestic use to its citizens.

Many years ago, we learnt about MapWindow and used it for a while. A few months later, we developed a custom solution to suit our needs (our own GIS) We later learnt about Quantum GIS (known as QGIS today). We explored it inside-out and became our go-to GIS. We taught it to other students(with many opposing and preferring the cracked versions of ArcGIS We spread the word and got training gigs from Corporates (while students). We won a grant from RCMRD/USAID/NASA. We graduated. And the story goes on and on.
