@mukund_bubna @SaviorKohli I always thought Russell stood deep in the crease because it gave him slightly more time than other batters especially because he loves to slog it over the cow corner. Faf also bats with a wide stance like Russell, but I haven't seen him fall prey to the yorker as much.

More than him occupying the depth of the crease, it is his stance. Look how wide the stance is. With that base, one cannot be nimble enough to adjust very quickly according to the ball - mind you, normal balls first bounce and then reaches the batsman thus giving him those few extra milliseconds to adjust. A yorker doesn’t give you those extra milliseconds. And which is why he stands so deep in the crease - to decrease the probability of the ball reaching him in full.

@SaviorKohli Russell is the most prone batsman to low full tossed and yorker. It's the extra deep position he takes in the crease.
