@BinghamtonNow They should shut that airport down. One lousy flight a day

@FranPotenz52656 @sportingnews 10th place and we don’t have to hear his name ever again. Hope he learned not to talk politics in sport
English

@sportingnews He prepared his whole life for a sport. It came time to talk about his sport & he took the bait & got political. Many athletes took the high road & spoke only about their sport when asked a political question. He got what he deserved, 10th place.Maybe He is a loser after all.

Hunter Hess says he flashed an L after his Olympic halfpipe qualifying run as a response to Donald Trump's comments about him.
"Apparently, I'm a loser."
Hess added: "I worked so hard to be here. I sacrificed my entire life to make this happen. I'm not going to let controversy like that get in my way. I love the United States of America. I cannot say that enough. My original statement, I felt like I said that, but apparently people didn't take it that way. I'm so happy to be here, so happy to represent Team USA."

The Free Lance News in the New Yorker
"J. B. Nicholas runs a news website called The Free Lance from his home in upstate New York, and, near the end of last year, he started obsessively tracking one story: a man confined at a state prison outside of Utica had died in early December after an encounter with correction officers. Reporting on a prison death can be tricky, but, in this case, there was evidence that rarely exists—video footage.

@JasonBNicholas Nice job covering all of this JB, from the days after to sentencing. Thank you

Four white state correction officers who pleaded guilty to manslaughter for killing a black prisoner in an upstate New York correctional facility last December were sentenced to prison Friday morning.
Anthony Farina, who led the beat-up squad that first tortured then finally killed Robert Brooks at the medium-security Marcy Correctional Facility, and fellow beat-up squad member Nicholas Anzalone, were sentenced by Oneida County judge Robert Bauer to 22 years, each.
"I've been at this a long time. I've seen a lot of terrible things in this room," judge Bauer said in his Utica courtroom when he sentenced Anzalone. "I have never seen so many lives destroyed in a moment."

@BinghamtonNow That airport is a joke , biggest waste of money for the one flight a day.

There were a number of irregularities in the trial 3 prison guards for murdering Robert Brooks. I detail them here

@NewYorker Great article, looked it up in the New Yorker, it would be great if we can find out how the COs adapt to a different kind of prison life.

@jrwhitusa @MaryKCNY @CNYCentral They, meaning the two acquitted. I respect the process of our system⚖️

@jrwhitusa @MaryKCNY @CNYCentral I have to agree with you, they shouldn’t have been put away for 25yrs. Just wish someone called for help. Ny needs to do better inside the walls

Says he directed CO Galliher to leave the infirmary room and get leg restraints.
Then he placed them on brooks.
Is there any reason for him to be restrained, Special Prosectutor DA Fitzpatrick asks Trombly. “No,” he said.

ROBERT BROOKS' KILLERS' TRIAL LIVE BLOG
DAY 5
10:06PM
Former Sgt. Glenn Trombly has taken the witness stand. Trombly was the sergeant inside Marcy's "emergency room" who stood by while guards under his command killed Robert Brooks. In exchange for his testimony, Special Prosecutor William F. Fitzpatrick promised Trombly a sentence of no greater than 4 years in prison for his plea of guilty to attempted gang assault.

@derby51598 @JasonBNicholas He didn’t do the right thing when a man is getting beaten to death. He could have called the state police and said this is out of hand. Common sense was not in the room that night.
English

@JasonBNicholas He didn’t anything wrong besides what he was instructed to do!
English
@jrwhitusa @MaryKCNY @CNYCentral They are all dirt bags and should be locked up. Killed a man for sport.
English

@MaryKCNY @CNYCentral As a former CO I speak out against the actions. how do you use a key “witness” who can’t be trustworthy? You have 3 people on trial for murder when the main perpetrators have already plead guilty. Trombley got a 4 yr sentence when he is a dirt bag boss.
English
@JasonBNicholas No more than 4 years? I hope they all have nightmares over this, making jokes as they kill a man that can’t defend himself🥹
