@OzgurCreativity @nemesis59139297 @A_A_Toulkeridis @Civixplorer Now go check the types of imperialism and you’ll realise why no one liked the Turks
English

@OzgurCreativity @nemesis59139297 @A_A_Toulkeridis @Civixplorer Byzantine empire was originally the Roman Empire that respected its citizens and that they were majority Greeks and instead of forcing them into converting, they changed the Royal customs and adopted the Hellenic identity.
English

@OzgurCreativity @A_A_Toulkeridis @Civixplorer “colonizers” and natives coexisted they didn’t rule over one another or steal cities. On the contrary Conquerors in all eras means taking the land of those who built it ruling over them, and oppressing them
English

@OzgurCreativity @A_A_Toulkeridis @Civixplorer Honey we are talking about 3000 years ago. There were no extensive boarders then. “Colonizers” back then meant settlers who were establishing cities in lands close to other civilisations for trade, farming etc.
English

@nonfoot1 @Anexitilos1 @25YearsAgoLive Do you think the emperor Constantine founded the city? 😆 go open a book. The city existed centuries before Constantine and it was called Byzantium by the Byzas, the Greek settler who built it
English

@Anexitilos1 @25YearsAgoLive Do you genuinely believe that Roman Emperor Constantine I was Greek? I’d recommend reading a book on the subject.
English

@OzgurCreativity @A_A_Toulkeridis @Civixplorer Greeks live in Cyprus for over 3 Milleniums buddy, worry about the horse eating Mongolian nomads who think they are natives in the island….
English

@A_A_Toulkeridis @Civixplorer Learn Geography, genius. It's in the Middle East part of Asia, not Europe continent. Greeks are colonizers of Cyprus.

English

@NIHATDO95439219 @morena_mar2586 Tell that to erdogan who threatens to invade Greek islands every other day. As for the Aegean you already have your share of sea in the west, the rest is Greek. If you want more, we would also like more of Bosporus waters to benefit economies for both counties, do you accept?
English

@morena_mar2586 Bizim kimsenin toprağında gözümüz yok. Sadece kıta sağanlığımıza saygı gösterilip Ege denizinin barış içinde iki ülkenin ekonomisine yarar sağlamasını istiyoruz. Haritaları değiştirmenin hiçbirimiz bir faydası yok.
Türkçe

@KundakciKoray @ParvumPrincipi Speaks the one whose nation was formed by taking the identity of its latest conqueror….
English

@ParvumPrincipi Yunanistan diye bir ülke yoktur. Toplama ve zoraki bir ulustur.

The Ancient Greeks were traders and travellers.
This is why

Coin found in German field turns out to be ancient Greek artifact - and archaeologists are baffled how it ended up there trib.al/gRs5ifi
English

@NHhuyhj @MakichyanA Turkey IS literally the Turkic colony that never ended…the fact that yall speak “Turkish” is bc of colonization just like Brazilians speak Portuguese. The difference is that yours is so rooted and successful that you think the Mongolians with the Asian eyes are your ancestors
English

@MakichyanA Ulan öbür fransız, güney amerikalılar gibi, ingilizce fransızca ispanyolca portekizce gibi dillerini zorla o işgal ettikleri ülkelere empoze eden itlerle bugün 400 500 yıl civarı altın da yaşamana rağmen dilini konuşmadığın osmanlıyımı bir tutuyon bunlarla

@sacrificedeye @turkishcy @NAFOBiHNL @Dr_TheHistories We know Arvanites honey and if you asked them they would tell you they were Greek. Calling them Albanians would be the biggest insult for them…most of them come from Epirus an Ancient Greek state which is located in modern Albania, the only connection to Albanians is the dialect
English

After the population exchange with Turkey in 1922, Greeks began a process of removing the cultural remnants of centuries of enemy occupation. Here, a colorized photo of the demolition of the minaret on the Osman Çavuş mosque in the town of Ioannina, circa 1930.

English

@sacrificedeye @turkishcy @NAFOBiHNL @Dr_TheHistories The concept of those “Albanians” fighting for a free and independent Greece all while not give a fck about Albanians who they considers Ottoman lapdogs
GIF
English

@turkishcy @multistanforfun @NAFOBiHNL @Dr_TheHistories Most Greeks are of Albanian descent. In fact, even their modern state was founded by Albanians.
English

@turkishcy @NAFOBiHNL @sacrificedeye @Dr_TheHistories As for “Albanians” it’s a nation that didn’t exist back then. What existed were Illyrians who also weren’t a single nation it’s just a random name that ancient Greeks gave to all the tribes that lived in northern Balkans and weren’t Hellenic.
English

@turkishcy @NAFOBiHNL @sacrificedeye @Dr_TheHistories We all come from someone. For Greeks the Greek identity starts with that mix, where Ancient Greeks were formed and the rest is history. You Turks claim that yours begins from Ottomans Turkics who started in Central Asia.
English

@sacrificedeye @Sinagog_Kundak @NAFOBiHNL @Dr_TheHistories Exactly, the difference is that Greeks didn’t win by forcing Anatolians to convert so they they don’t lose their lives or properties to taxes. Both Greeks and Anatolian culture mingled naturally over millenniums and created a shared one, with ottomans that never happened.
English

@multistanforfun @Sinagog_Kundak @NAFOBiHNL @Dr_TheHistories The ancient world, where everyone lived together in brotherhood and exchanged cultures, is the truly fantastical element. It was a harsher world than the one we live in today, and the Greeks won. Just like the Turks did in the Middle Ages.
English

@turkishcy @NAFOBiHNL @sacrificedeye @Dr_TheHistories you do know that ancient Greeks occurs from the mix of Anatolian Neolithic farmers who immigrated in mainland Greece and mixed with Mycenaeans right? So yeah we do have a connection from ancient times. Now tell me again where ottomans came from…
English

@multistanforfun @NAFOBiHNL @sacrificedeye @Dr_TheHistories You also have no connection with the people of Anatolia; you assimilated them. Or should I say the Arzawa people? Anatolia is also a colonizer name.
English

@sacrificedeye @Sinagog_Kundak @NAFOBiHNL @Dr_TheHistories If your argument is a mythological book of one city that was attacked because of an alliance betrayal and not the thousand other scripts of cultural exchange and coexistence, that’s on you buddy…
English

@multistanforfun @Sinagog_Kundak @NAFOBiHNL @Dr_TheHistories Your greatest mythological text is about how the Greeks attacked the people of Anatolia. Don't be funny.
English

@Sinagog_Kundak @NAFOBiHNL @sacrificedeye @Dr_TheHistories Greeks didn’t assimilate native Anatolians, they mixed with Anatolians after Milleniums of coexistence, they arrived in Anatolia as farmers not conquerors, they built their own cities, they didn’t scoot Anatolians, neither pressured them to convert to have normal life conditions
English

@turkishcy @NAFOBiHNL @sacrificedeye @Dr_TheHistories Do you even hear yourself? You are asking natives why they destroyed their colonizers memorials after they booted them. Of course Greeks didn’t want anything to remind them of Turks. Turks are the occupators, if you want home treatment they should go back to Mongolia
English

@NAFOBiHNL @sacrificedeye @Dr_TheHistories That place was already Ottoman territory. There were many Turks living there. You should be ashamed, but you're making excuses.
English

@chambermainss @yenidenclaus @Globalstats11 The land was called Turkey, not the empire. The same way that before ottomans the same land was called Anatolia, meaning the land, not the Byzantine empire.
English

@multistanforfun @yenidenclaus @Globalstats11 ottoman empire mostly mentioned as " Turkiye" even in 1600's in most of the places. meaning land of the turks

@yenidenclaus @Globalstats11 The existence of Turkey is literally based on exiling the ottomans…the only difference with the rest is that the others had a culture to return after booting ottos, while Turkish were the converted ones that had no other way than to stay with the culture of their latest occupator
English

@Globalstats11 Turkey was not part of the ottoman empire. Turkey is Ottoman empire.
