@BBCBreaking Bet the press are rubbing their hands together if this goes ahead……wonder what grubby little headlines they can come up with for Wes Streeting.

@NickBryantNY Definitely. I’ve been saying this for months and it really makes me so angry that we do not appear to have a fair and free press now in the UK. The BBC are just as bad and radio 4 in the morning is dreadfully biased.

Are we as journalists, with our excitable coverage of politics, contributing to democratic instability and a crisis of governance? Yes, I would say…. open.substack.com/pub/historynev…

@BBCNews But didn’t you have a financial bod on Radio 4 this morning saying that all countries borrowing costs, not just ours are going up, but then that doesn’t fit with your agenda does it.

Hey @BBCNews , got a story for you! About 11 reform new councillors have stepped down or been expelled already! It will cost a lot to elect new ones. How about running that as a story, just for a smidgen of impartiality?

Any resemblance to the notorious round-up in Paris which put Jews into a cycling stadium is purely coincidental. La Rafle du Vel d'Hiv

‼️FIELD EXECUTIONS, MASS DETENTIONS. Alarming footage of Israeli forces turning a stadium in Gaza into a mass detention camp. The video shows the detention of hundreds of civilians, including women, elders, and BABIES. @EuroMedHR has confirmed that the Israeli forces are carrying out field executions against civilians in Gaza after forcibly removing them from displacement centers and stripping them.

@JamWaterhouse @SimonJonesNews That's equal to the population of #Norwich or #Bournemouth in 7 years!! There's no sign Labour has any intention of controlling the tsunami of illegals, fake asylum seekers! Indeed Shabby Mamoody has said she wants the UK to 'go brown' 😖

More than 200,000 migrants have now crossed the channel to the UK in small boats since 2018. Boat interceptions are rising, but not enough to curb the overall increasing numbers of those making this dangerous journey. 🎥 Matt Logan

We must respond to the message that voters have sent us and break with the status quo once and for all. We must confront the big challenges the public face with real answers. That is how we will deliver the change that people are desperate for and build a stronger and fairer country. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

@ianrich15813274 Whoever takes over had got to realise that they are on a hiding to nothing. The British press has it in for the Labour Party and even David Attenborough would struggle to turn things around.

Politics is brutal & unfair, Starmer doesn't deserve to be so unpopular, but the harsh reality is he's loathed by millions & has to go soon to give Labour any hope.

@MichaelRosenYes I am so despondent about all this, it’s like Brexit all over again. No matter what horrible things they do , voters like them, not all obviously, but enough to get them elected. The British press are appalling and so one sided, the BBC is going the same way. Im off t’allotment.

The future beckons: an Israel-supporting party that will deport 2 million people, whose leader made a point in his teenage years of persecuting Jewish students at his school, so say some of those former students. All's well that ends well.

Sergey Brin came out of retirement in 2023 to personally write code at Google. He's now the third-richest person on Earth. The math: Alphabet just hit $4.62 trillion. Up 138% in twelve months. Up 33% in the last thirty days alone. Larry sits at $325B, Sergey at $301B, and Elon is the only person ahead of either. Three years ago Google was the AI laggard. ChatGPT launched November 2022 and Sundar declared a "Code Red." The company that invented the transformer architecture was shipping LaMDA into approval committees while OpenAI shipped to consumers. Sergey had stepped down in December 2019 at 46, reportedly to study religious texts. He came back early 2023. The Wall Street Journal caught him at Mountain View 3-4 days a week. At the All In Summit in September 2024 he admitted he'd been at Google "pretty much every day." He filed his first changelist (Google's term for a code commit) in years and started running weekly meetings on loss curves. Then he started breaking things. In a February 2025 internal memo he told the Gemini team 60 hours was the productivity sweet spot and "the final race to AGI is afoot." He stripped approval committees that were slowing model training. He found out Gemini itself was on Google's blocklist of approved coding assistants. He had what he called "a big tiff" and got it removed. The company building the AI couldn't use the AI. November 18, 2025: Gemini 3 ships. Tops LMArena at 1501 Elo. Beats GPT-5 and Claude 4.5 on reasoning. PhD-level on Humanity's Last Exam. November 2025: Apple announces Gemini will power the next generation of Siri. April 2026: $4.62T market cap. Sergey worth six times what he was when he stepped down. The professional CEO ran Google beautifully through the advertising era. Revenue tripled, margins held, Cloud crossed profitability. A different game started and the playbook didn't transfer. The fix was a billionaire founder walking into Building 43 to file changelists and kill committees. You can hire a CEO. You can't hire a founder with controlling shares willing to file a changelist at 51.
