The North American Aviation Corporation aircraft display shows dramatic images of NAA airplanes produced from WW II until the Rockwell International merger. Here's the massive XB-70 Valkyrie experimental bomber, the largest airplane to fly three times the speed of sound in 1965.

This original 35mm Kodachrome slides taken during World War II shows a ramp scene typical of that era. This Santa Monica built Douglas B-18 Bolo bomber awaits its next training mission as another Santa Monica airplane an American Airlines Douglas DC-3 Flagship taxies for takeoff

Our “Legacy Air Carrier” display shows airlines that disappeared after Deregulation in 1978. Based in Los Angeles and featuring “The Proud Birds with the Golden Tail,” Continental flew routes between Chicago and Los Angeles before expanding, and then merging with United Airlines.

The Museum’s Commercial Aviation Gallery celebrates the Golden Age of Air Travel. Here is the highly advanced Lockheed L-1011 TriStar in Eastern Airlines livery, seen prior to delivery at Lockheed’s main facility in Palmdale, CA, now home of the famed and secret ‘Skunk Works.’

Did you know the Douglas World Cruisers took six months to circle the globe in 1924? The Museum of Flying is home to the many rare original artifacts given to the three aircrews during their round-the-world flight which can be seen upstairs next to the Historic Douglas Boardroom.

Young aviation dreams do indeed come true! Seen here ready to preflight his Boeing 737-900ER is new Alaska First Officer James Babinski. Ten years ago, James was a teenage Guest Service Representative at the Museum of Flying. Now he is working his dream job!

The Museum of Flying is proud to have many original paintings produced by Douglas artists, like this stunning Aeropostal DC-9-50 by R.G. Smith.

This rare World War II color photograph from a recently donated collection captures a Douglas A-20 Havoc on the factory ramp in Santa Monica. More than 7,500 Havocs were built at the Douglas plant in Santa Monica.

Many historic airplanes are represented in our Museum by original factory display models like this turboprop Grumman Gulfstream executive transport.
