$SPY $SPX
1)In January I posted we would sell down 20% and bottom in April - We bottomed down 19.66% (daily candle close)April 7th.
2) I said it would create a large H&S pattern getting everyone bearish (It DID,and they were)
3) I then said it would RIP higher (we went up 44%!)
4) I stated there would be two 5ish% drawdowns in back 1/2 of year....we got a 4 1/2% and a 5% (nothing larger)
5) I said we would end the year up 18%ish...we are currently up 17%ish....
Will I get my 18%ish? #Uncanny

$SPY $SPX Current thesis... fugly into a March/April low 20ish%...forming a H&S getting everyone bearish then rip higher with two 5ish% drawdowns in back half of year...eoy calling for 18ish% year // See my pinned tweet

It’s not clear to me that a democratic government would be great for China’s economic development.
After all, Deng Xiao Peng managed to enact market reforms without democracy. He was trying to emulate the Singapore model.
Simply by dismantling Mao’s anti-market dogma and granting basic freedoms that Mao crushed - owning land / property, starting a business, being able to change jobs, etc - the enterprising spirit and ethos of the Chinese people was unleashed.
So if the CCP wants credit for lifting “hundreds of millions” out of poverty, they have to take responsibility for why China was poor to begin with. They can’t have their cake and eat it too.
I am happy to credit them for the good stuff as long as they also take credit for the bad stuff.

Deng and his chosen successors (Jiang and Hu) did an amazing job lifting 800 million Chinese people out of poverty, and lots of lower level Party people helped too. Democratic government would have done this earlier and with fewer costs, but the post-Mao, pre-Xi CCP got it done.

@zerohedge Does Japan even have an army? Are they able to summon anyone? Maybe "strongly suggest it may be a good idea to meet and I'll bring snacks" is the best they can do.
