I don’t agree with banning floor crossing. But I think an MP should have to go out and collect signatures from a significant portion of the riding’s voters in order to cross the floor. Who thinks this is a reasonable requirement? If you truly have a good reason to cross the floor, I don’t think it would be that difficult to maybe get 10-15% of people in the riding to sign off on it in 90 days. And unless you do this, you cannot change your party affiliation on a ballot in the next election as a sitting MP.
