@gareth_snell @trussliz There is no more pretense. The UK is now governed by Tory donors not Tory politians and Starmers Labour will be pretty much the same.

@DunfordGilly @kelvmackenzie Humans are not designed to work! They are designed to create and invent . To find ways of making their environments safer, to produce and nurture the next generation. Not sew crap clothes for pennies, or barely survive to make others obscenely rich.

@kelvmackenzie French have a healthier outlook to work life balance. They get paid decent wages and there are strict workers rights and strong unions. When your company looks after you , you are more productive & loyal. Low wages & zero hours make the UK how it is. Complain & your'e gone!

@toadmeister At 72, she would have been a waspi, who would have lost roughly 3 years of state pension, 30,000 ? Because of the Tories. If she is so poor she freezes due to 300 pounds then apply for pension credits and qualify for WFA. Unless she lives in a tent, it's not - 3c!

@robprogressive Dubai used slave labour to build its city to where it is now. They got the workforce from India and confiscated the immigrants' passport on arrival until they had earned it back... Paying taxes is a scam. But Dubai is Dubai due to slave labour which is unethical.

I’m in Dubai & it makes paying taxes in the U.K. feel like a scam:

No income tax. No capital gains tax, yet the city thrives: clean. Safe. World-class infrastructure. Wealth. Opportunity everywhere. Yet the U.K. burdens with record levels of tax, a broken public service & no innovation. Why?

We need to eat more deer and rabbit. With no natural predators, the deer population in the UK is becoming environmentally unstable and rabbit tastes a lot better than chicken.

.@RealDonaldTrump Oh, come on, Donny, you're selling snake oil again, dressed up in your usual red hat nonsense. A “powerful Bill” to bring the country back? Back to what exactly? The chaos, the debt, the giveaways to billionaires? Let’s break this down before you send us all over another cliff. “Secure the Border”? You had four years and a blank check, and what did we get? A few miles of half-built fence, chunks of steel rusting in the desert, and billions wasted on contracts that delivered nothing but lawsuits. You didn’t secure anything except excuses. “Unleash American Energy”? You mean more handouts to Big Oil while ignoring clean energy jobs that could actually put Americans to work and not just line the pockets of CEOs? We’ve seen this movie before, and spoiler alert: the little guy gets crushed under the boot of corporate greed. “Renew the Trump Tax Cuts”? Of course, because nothing says “historic victory” like giving the richest 1% a fat payday while the rest of us watch potholes grow into craters and school budgets disappear. And this “no tax on tips” gimmick? Sure, it sounds nice, but let’s be real, it won't be long before hedge fund gamblers will be claiming their incomes as tips. There is no protections in that nonsense. How about a living wage instead of more crumbs? And your magic solution? Tariffs. Because jacking up prices on American consumers is somehow a win? Newsflash: those “countries that have taken advantage” didn’t pay your tariffs. We did, at the grocery store, at the gas pump, and everywhere else. You might as well slap a “tax on everything” sign across America’s forehead. This isn’t leadership; it’s the same con game you’ve always played. You distract people with shiny promises and big slogans while stacking the deck for the wealthy and powerful. If Republicans really wanted to deliver "historic victories," they’d start by passing bills that actually help working Americans, better healthcare, affordable childcare, and a fair tax system that doesn’t punish the middle class to coddle billionaires. So, Donny, spare us the rerun. We’ve seen this act before, and it’s not making America great, it’s making it harder for most of us to get by.

@Medicfox @ReviewsPossum Not quite right. 1 acre can , if organised properly , feed 4 people quite well. But its a full time job and you need the investment of good equipment and you need to be fit. Obviously not every family could do this, so bartering of skills for food begins. Pre industrial age life

@ReviewsPossum Farming is not as easy as some think it is. The poster that you linked has zero idea about farming. What they fail realize is it takes 10 sq acres to feed 1 person for a year. times that by 350 million and yeah that's a lot of land to feed a nation.

My friend tried to withdraw £20k from Natwest bank & their response was shocking For 30 years my friend has been a loyal customer He called to withdraw the money & they said no He went into the branch and asked face to face to withdraw the £20k and they asked 'what it’s for' He said ’none of your business, it’s my money’ They said ‘unless you can tell us exactly what the money is for, you cannot withdraw it' This should shock & terrify you. Your own money isn’t even yours anymore

How many dinners a week do you actually cook from scratch? I’m talking real, whole food not out of a box or anything. For instance: you roast a whole chicken, potatoes, and carrots. Frying some steaks with a side salad and rice. That kind of thing.

@Wishfullthinki9 @Keir_Starmer I grew up in the 50s. No central heating then. We wore liberty bodies and thick jumpers and socks. Had hot water bottles and often an coal fire in the main room. Winter was cold but we didn't freeze! I'm 72 now and just moved into my first house with radiators. Not used yet.

@hashjenni Firstly, why does it bother or worry you? If it's not health related then, it's not your problem. If you want to help them , maybe suggest they join you in a zumba class or similar? Swimming? Depending on their reaction or answer, you can take it from there or leave it be.

If Keir Starmer had said before the election that he would remove the winter fuel allowance from millions of pensioners, betray WASPI women, add inheritance to family farms, council tax & energy price increases, raise university tuition fees, plaster mass-scale solar panels on thousands of acres of prime farmland despite huge local community objections, spaff £22bn of taxpayers’ money on carbon capture machines, give £3bn a year of taxpayers’ money to Ukraine, pledge a 20% cut in meat & dairy and get exposed for receiving over £100,000 worth of freebies - he almost certainly wouldn’t have won. He duped the electorate. An utterly shameless display of snake oil political salesmanship. And yet he still lectures all of us in that gratingly sanctimonious manner of his like we are all somehow the problem.

Our Country is a disaster, a laughing stock all over the World! This is what happens when you have OPEN BORDERS, with weak, ineffective, and virtually nonexistent leadership. The DOJ, FBI, and Democrat state and local prosecutors have not done their job. They are incompetent and corrupt, having spent all of their waking hours unlawfully attacking their political opponent, ME, rather than focusing on protecting Americans from the outside and inside violent SCUM that has infiltrated all aspects of our government, and our Nation itself. Democrats should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this to happen to our Country. The CIA must get involved, NOW, before it is too late. The USA is breaking down - A violent erosion of Safety, National Security, and Democracy is taking place all across our Nation. Only strength and powerful leadership will stop it. See you on January 20th. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
