Performative or not, talking about Pride 🏳️‍🌈 will always be important IMHO. Awareness is 1st step towards full civil rights. In 2022, 320 anti-LGBTQ+ bills introduced & it’s mind-boggling that personal beliefs - not facts - come at the expense of actual human rights & safety.

Reported here previously, now official: NWSL players receive $10,000 for winning Challenge Cup, $5,000 for finishing 2nd — significant for most players given minimum base salary is $35k. Other semifinalists get $1,500. Numbers go up in 2023. Result of partnership with UKG firm.

I get that this came in a losing effort, but odd it hasn't been played up more: The official stat from yesterday is 13 saves for North Carolina Courage goalkeeper Casey Murphy, which breaks her own record for a single #NWSL playoff game (11 for the Reign in a 2019 loss to NC).

We have work to do. I invested in NC Women’s soccer because it is so important for the culture. It is good that swift action was taken. But we have to do more to ensure that women can thrive without fear. There is no finish line.
