Harambee Stars have switched hotels in South Africa after players rejected their initial accommodation, terming it substandard.
At the new hotel, management is now demanding payment for tonight’s stay only. Although they had initially insisted on full payment upfront, they later agreed to accept payment for a single night.
However, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has reportedly refused to settle the bill, leaving the situation unresolved.
Players and officials have consequently been stranded, spending over three hours seated in the hotel lobby as they await clearance to check in, with the hotel unable to admit them without payment confirmation.

The controversy surrounding the Kenyan Premier League/National Super League promotion-relegation playoff is far from over and could be headed for the courts.
On July 3, 2025, at 9:54 p.m., FKF's Leagues and Competitions Department formally communicated to clubs that the 2019 regulations would apply for the 2025-26 season. Those rules expressly provide for a playoff between the team finishing 16th in the Premier League and the side placed third in the National Super League.
However, FKF subsequently appeared to abandon that position and began applying provisions from the 2025 regulations instead, creating confusion over which set of rules should govern promotion and relegation.
The apparent contradiction has left the fate of the playoff hanging in the balance, with Kariobangi Sharks expected to challenge any move to scrap the fixture. Should FKF decide against staging the playoff, the matter is likely to end up before the courts or relevant football tribunals.
More clear.

Former Sofapaka midfielder Feni Ali has been handed a lifetime ban from all football-related activities after being found guilty of match-fixing by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA).
According to FUFA, Ali was found to have played a central role in coordinating match-fixing schemes in several matches, including a fixture between Lugazi FC and Buhimba United Saints FC. Investigations established that he acted as a link between players and match-fixers.
The midfielder previously featured for SC Villa, URA FC, Proline FC, Wakiso Giants FC and Kyetume FC during his career in Uganda.
Ali had a brief stint with Sofapaka in 2017, spending six months at the club. Despite emerging as the team's highest-scoring midfielder during that period, he departed under circumstances that were never fully explained.

Safaricom has made remarks to Parliament on the Finance Bill 2026:
— It warns mobile money fees could go up by up to 18.4% if new tax changes are passed
— It questions why, unlike banks and other financial institutions, it is not exempt from issuing electronic tax invoices for service fees despite offering similar services
— It is asking that M-Pesa receipts be accepted as valid tax invoices
— It raises concerns about how income tax rules apply to expenses like promotional prizes
— It is questioning whether e-invoicing should mainly apply to transaction taxes rather than income tax rules
