We call upon responsible citizens and officers of government everywhere to promote those measures designed to maintain and strengthen the family as the fundamental unit of society. The Family: A Proclamation to the World (1995)

The narrative until this morning: “USU basketball is a winning program largely due to the community, Hurd, Spectrum, etc, and pretty much any really good coach will do great here, and continue that streak.” This morning: “We’re doomed.”

@mwburn @BrianPhillipsa1 Ryan Odom inherited: Max Shulga, Sean Bairstow, Steven Ashworth, and Justin Bean Jerrod Calhoun inherited: Mason Falslev, Karson Templin, and Ian Martinez If we are discrediting coaches for guys they inherited than the only one we can't do that to is Danny Sprinkle.

I do not think Craig would be my first, second, or third option, tbh. However, getting Craig would give Utah State the most NIL + Revenue Share than anyone else would have at Utah State. Do I think Craig can win at Utah State with $2.4m NIL + $4m in Revenue Share + $2 million from the Cincy buyout? I do. I think there are very few coaches who wouldn't win with that in the Pac-12.

👀🤔 Does this change your opinion if you are against bringing Craig back?

@BradenTClark @BrianPhillipsa1 I’m just saying he inherited a couple good ones and kind of got lucky with Neemias, then didn’t really stick around long enough to create a good track record. I’m not saying he’s not a good coach, just that his success here was probably easier to do than normal.

The only thing I wish yeah Utah had more of is water. Being in a constant drought sucks, but it's not surprising when you live in a desert.

@LandonCheatham As expected it’s often hard for young kids to move away from their friends, especially leaving during the school year.

Most of all I feel bad for Calhouns family. They were just ripped away from friends and a place they had all fallen in love with to go live in Cincinnati...

Eventually we will swing and miss. Can’t keep playing Russian roulette with coaching changes. @CamWalker_USU buyout structure for the next HC. 10 mil non negotiable for being hired elsewhere. 1 mil if Utah state wants to move on.

@Tcranney1907 @StocktonJewkes This. If they want to leave, we get $, when they take the core team, we just lost out on a big investment (time and money). That’s the part of NIL that needs to be addressed/fixed.

This stings, but I feel nothing but gratitude for Calhoun and his family as he heads to Cincinnati. It’s a business, and you can’t blame a coach for taking more money at his alma mater. I hope Aggie fans will remember how much he’s done for USU. Thank you, Coach Calhoun.
