After 19 years and four months of service, I was separated without due process. This isn’t just my experience—it’s happening across the Army. When due process is ignored, trust is lost, and good Soldiers are cast aside. I hope this opens the door to reform. Thank you @RCDefense for publishing. @SecDef @SpeakerJohnson @SteveScalise @SenBillCassidy @SenJohnKennedy @RepGarretGraves @HASCRepublicans @HASCDemocrats @SenJackReed @RepMikeRogersAL

Elliot Page is speaking out about transphobic backlash over false rumors he was cast as Achilles in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. Critics, including Elon Musk, attacked the rumored casting. Page is actually playing Sinon. Page came out as transgender and non-binary in 2020.

@RadioFreeTom If you want, I can give you some pointers about aiming artillery. It's basically a combination of math and weather factors. easey-peasey

I don't mind that you didn't go to Harvard. I'm pointing out that you writing about "what Harvard is like" would be like me giving pointers on how to aim artillery. I write about national security policy, the thing done by civilians (like me) and very senior military officers.
InfantryDort@infantrydort

You’re right, I’ve never been to Harvard. I was too busy getting this. You know, the credential you want but can’t have. For the rest of you, Join The Infantry. Don’t become an envious academic partisan pig like Tom.

A stunning preview page from LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES #1 by @Cleanlined and Tamra Bonvillain. The first issue will honor the past, but we worked hard to craft a first issue that's very new reader friendly. Pre-order with your comic book store this week!

Most of my writing has focused on military justice, veteran mental health, leadership accountability, and the human cost of service. This article is different. The Cost of Half-Empire argues that America’s most expensive strategy isn’t restraint or decisive victory—it’s the space in between: using force without accepting responsibility for what follows. Military Investigation Culture I’m seeing a lot of stray voltage with the suspension of the investigation into the Apache pilots so I’m going to weigh in. One of the most dangerous habits in a military is confusing obedience to regulations with devotion to victory. Rules exist to serve the mission. The mission does not exist to serve the rules. Every disastrous rule in military history was once defended by someone saying, “Those are the regulations.” Every revolutionary improvement in military history began with someone asking whether the regulations themselves had become the problem. The people insisting, “An investigation is required because that’s the process,” are making the same intellectual mistake as the people who defended every broken rule of the last twenty years. >Bad ROE. >Bad acquisition. >Bad personnel policy. >Bad evaluation systems. >Bad promotion systems. Every one of them survived because people stopped asking whether the rule still served the purpose for which it was created. An institution that loses the ability to question its own rules eventually begins worshipping procedure instead of purpose. The civil military divide is so wide you could fit a field army in it. So when the simple act of flying near Americans to inspire them on an existing mission bridges it a bit, what’s the problem? I see so many people screaming “BUT SAFETY!” You people live your lives like you want to go into the grave in bubble wrap. Since when did you become slaves to every rule written by the hands of man and question the god given inspiration that stirs the soul? You live life like bureaucrats. Why? This is the reason we have such a hard time inculcating the warrior spirit. Because you’ve plucked it from your existence in the name of safety. It’s dangerous to you. Nobody is arguing for utter recklessness, but military investigation culture has gotten so out of control that it requires a correction. If you think it’s fine and it’s routine and it’s normal business then you are part of the problem. Don’t lose the forest for the trees on this. Culture changes start at the top. If the Secretary of War is telling you to lighten up, twice…. then maybe do that. Or keep wasting thousands of man hours on dumb investigations while stressing your force out for no reason. One final note: YOU DON’T ALWAYS NEED PAPER! SOMETIMES PAIN WILL DO! So inflict that instead sometimes. Just like your fathers and grandfathers did before you. Pushups, flutter kicks, extra duties, whatever. Going to paper for every infraction is bitch made behavior and we aren’t doing that anymore.

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through Him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation He came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate, He suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins, and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen. 🙏🏼
