@Arogustus @Litethii I am a retired League player so this comparison hits home haha but yes exactly. It’s game first, lore second. The comic for CROS is exactly that. Most people who play these types of games don’t engage with lore which is the polar opposite of the CR audience

@n0tenvy2 @Litethii Honestly good take. Ajd to be fair, for stuff like League, at least to my understanding, all of their story ajd character stuff occurs in media outside of the games! The Ovensmash comic is the only thing we've got for that right now.

Ovensmash is a functional, fun game with pretty characters but it does not land in the cookie run audience because they are story/character-driven. The “it needs a story mode” criticism doesn’t work because 1) it’s a MOBA and 2) it stays alive by people playing, not reading

@Litethii @Balanc_3 Absolutely and they kind of tried with the Brawl Stars space with partnering creators but it’s also not a smart idea to try to convert fans of an existing game 😭 it will be hostile right off the bat (and it was and still is)

@LesboLynx Perfect comparison like it’s a whole difference audience and that’s the main issue. Like everyone is looking at the wrong game genre (“/MULTIPLAYER/ ONLINE BATTLE AREA) to be complaining about “story”. This complaint is absolutely useless when talking about its lack of success

I wish the team made more promotional material bc the 4 panel comics on social media ALWAYS do well and you see them do well on the CROS acc as well. You make interesting designs to get people to play ur game but they aren’t pushing their CROS characters enough :(

It doesn’t matter how much people “read” bc in the end what matters is if people can get in queue with other players. I really need everyone to drop the “story mode” point bc it makes zero sense and does not help the game at all

To be thrown in a competitive PVP game where people are posting their bad teammates in the discord to flame them is a COMPLETELY new experience to a lot of people but that’s super typical for anyone playing online PVP games. I love CROS but devsisters overestimated +

Considering how many people do not open kingdom for months, it’s no surprise a gameplay-dependent game like Ovensmash is suffering. Getting people into the game is the most difficult obstacle for the devs bc their existing audience just doesn’t play games in general
