they couldn't see it: At the exact time of liftoff, the International Space Station (ISS) was passing over the northern Pacific Ocean, far from Florida. This placed it on the opposite side of the planet from the launch site, making direct real-time viewing of the rocket's liftoff impossible for the crew

The ISS circles the earth once every 90 minutes. Of the seven crew members aboard the ISS, no one thought it would be a good idea to film Artemis 2 lifting off and punching through the atmosphere from the perspective of space? It could have been one of the most historic sites ever filmed.

‼️ JUST IN: Iranian state media claims U.S. A-10 Thunderbolt aircraft repeatedly struck Basij and IRGC convoys in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad as they attempted to capture a downed U.S. pilot. Heavy U.S. strikes reportedly prevented them from reaching the pilot. Stay connected, follow @MOSSADil.

@luismbat Multi planetary is only for haves, if you don't have, you are stuck on earth. Let's keep reminding us that multi planetary talk is not for all. It's luxury, it's for the multi billionaires. In a nutshell, multi planetary for multi billionaires period.

In 2029, Apophis, a ~370m asteroid, will pass just ~31,000 km from Earth. That’s ~1/10 the distance to the Moon. Inside the orbit of geostationary satellites. Visible to the naked eye. Impact risk this time is low, but the flyby could shift its future trajectory. A direct hit would mean a ~1 km crater and regional devastation. That’s why becoming multiplanetary matters.

@OldGassy1984 Toilets are a constant issue on warships too. The system is called the (CHT) system ( at least in the Iowa class Battleships ) and it’s a pain to work on.

@StephenFleming Feds have a history of doing this at Vandenburg where CCC tried to limit SpaceX launches for let’s say “non technical reasons”

@n3ckf I’m thinking one of two places. First, Camp Pendleton, south of San Clemente. Federal coastline. Halfway between LA and San Diego, both of which need water. The Feds can tell the California Coastal Commission to pound sand. /1

My Letter to the Editor in today’s Arizona Daily Star: ______ Long term, I’m a fan of building desalination plants at the north end of the Sea of Cortez, and sending the resulting fresh water up to Lake Havasu to recharge the Central Arizona Project’s canals. But that requires pumping water uphill for 200 miles across an international border and through occasionally-rough terrain. That’s not impossible, but it cannot be done quickly. On the other hand, coastal California has huge demands for residential, industrial, and agricultural water just a few miles from the Pacific Ocean. Let’s make a deal! Arizona would pay for new desalination plants along the West Coast, delivering fresh water to Californians for free. As those plants come online, California would transfer Colorado River water rights to Arizona, gallon-for-gallon. We could continue to use existing infrastructure without digging new tunnels or canals. Desalination plants are a mature, well-understood technology that can be operated with minimal environmental impact. If we can thrash our way through the paperwork, a desalination deal with California could be the quickest solution to Arizona’s water supply challenges, and a win-win for both states. arizonadailystar-az.newsmemory.com/?publink=0df1a…

@n3ckf Second, the Yurok Reservation up near Klamath. Not as geographically desirable as Pendleton. But a good native-lands lawyer could make a good case for ignoring the Coastal Commission, and maybe even the NEPA. And they have direct access to the sea.

@ThePrimalDino i suspect the crew has been cautioned about exactly this sort of thing, which would be less well received than it was in 1968

I think we need to prepare for a distinct possibility on April 5th. Space twitter, this is very important for you all to read and understand, so you can explain to the laymen in the event that this actually occurs. In 1968, humans went to the moon for the first time ever, and they did it during Christmas. And, for the occasion, the Apollo 8 astronauts read a passage from the book of genesis. Fast forward to 2026, and Artemis II is flying a very similar mission, this time, during Easter. An equally, if not more important holy day to Christians all over the world. Now as many of you may know, Astronaut Victor Glover has been very vocal about his faith, and has brought a bible with him to the Moon. This means that there is a significant chance that a reading from the Bible occurs on Easter, in a similar vain to what Apollo 8 did on Christmas. Spitter, your job will be to remind people that this is NOT a political event, and is in fact, something that NASA astronauts have done before, the last time we went to the Moon. Wether this actually occurs, I can’t say, and I imagine it is rather unlikely, but I think that if it does, this will be an extremely publicized and unfortunately an extremely politicized event, and we need to be the rational voices explaining why it is happening. Thank you all for your attention to this matter.

🚨BREAKING:🚨 Treasonist whistleblower brothers Alexander and Eugene Vindman, the former of whom played a central role in the first impeachment of President Trump and the latter of whom is a sitting Democrat US Congressman, are reportedly ON THE VERGE OF BEING FEDERALLY INDICTED in Virginia under THE ESPIONAGE ACT for their alleged leaking of US MILITARY SECRETS AND CLASSIFIED DOCUMENTS to the Ukrainian government as well as a MASSIVE MONEY LAUNDERING KICKBACKS SCHEME that the brothers, who are Ukrainian born, orchestrated to line their pockets with MILLIONS OF DOLLARS in US taxpayer funding that was allocated as aid for Ukraine in its ongoing war with Russia. In other words, the Vindman brothers have betrayed The United States on behalf of their home country of Ukraine which they are working for and getting FILTHY RICH off of. LOCK THESE TRAITOROUS SLIMEBALLS UP AND THEN SEND THEM BACK TO UKRAINE WHERE THEY BELONG because as Alexander Vindman infamously said in his epic failure of a book, HERE RIGHT MATTERS. What do you think fellow patriots? 📢🚨🇺🇸

California spent $3.9 billion installing 8,000 miles of broadband cable. That's $484,125 per mile. Top-end estimates for underground fiber optic cable are $120,000 per mile. All this, when Starlink is ready and available. Something's not adding up. broadbandbreakfast.com/mark-monroe-gu…
