Haroon Rashid, the interviewer, is a British Pakistani. His country of origin, treated Aurangzeb as one of the greatest rulers ever, treats the 17 yr old invader Bin Qasim as the first Pakistani. They are taught, Indian Muslims are 2nd class citizens. His lens is of sympathy for Rahman.
His lens is of disbelief as to how come Rahman, is thriving in the current regime. (He is giving music for the big budget Ramayana as well)
So he fishes. And Rahman, maybe stung with a drought of work, takes the bait. It must be my faith, due to which I don’t get work of late. Validating the interviewer’s point. It’s like a victim card distribution these journalists do, like the Aadhar card.
