It’s the same notes since Siad Barre fell.
The bank doesn’t function, the state can’t even print money yet they talk about sovereignty.

This came after 10 years at war with the Somalian government, as Somalilanders fought to reclaim their independence, which was achieved in 1991. The resistance actually started in 1961.

Somaliland united with Somalia , which gained its independence from Italy five days after Somaliland. Even the African Union stated in 2005 that the union was never ratified.

@Nna_EBUBECHUKWU @priyankaphuja @hoodohaybe1 @RepOfSomaliland No, it’s not a breakaway. The Republic of Somaliland was a former British protectorate, while Somalia was an Italian colony. They simply reclaimed their sovereignty in 1991.
