Per Iran International, President Masoud Pezeshkian is reportedly furious that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched the missile and drone strikes on the UAE without the government's knowledge or coordination.
Pezeshkian called the strategy of escalating with Iran's Gulf neighbors "madness" and warned of "potentially irreversible consequences."
This is the most explicit confirmation yet that the IRGC is operating outside the Iranian government's control.
Foreign Minister Araghchi negotiating in Pakistan while the IRGC seizes ships in Hormuz.
Pezeshkian publicly calling for diplomacy while the IRGC publicly threatens to sink U.S. vessels.
Now the IRGC striking Emirati targets without allegedly telling the Iranian president.
Pezeshkian's framing matters. He's not criticizing tactics.
He's calling the entire IRGC strategic posture "madness" and warning the consequences could be "irreversible."
The civilian-IRGC split inside Iran is now the central variable in whether this war restarts or ends in negotiations.
If Pezeshkian and Araghchi can wrest control back from the IRGC, a deal becomes possible.

My team has been in direct contact with State and Federal partners as we work to confirm the whereabouts and conditions of these New Yorkers.

Today, the body of our neighbor was found buried and decomposed.
He had been wounded and left bleeding for three days during the last evacuation from northern Gaza.
When he realized he would not survive, and that no one could reach him, he made his final decision.
He covered himself with soil and buried himself while in prostration.
Now, his remains were found in that same position still in sujood.
His body was discovered beside a tree he chose as his final resting place.
He left a sign for his family… his ring tied above the soil with a thread, along with a small branch from the tree, so they could find him.
Even in his final moments, he thought of them.
Even in death, he left a message of dignity, faith, and farewell.
This is not just a story.
This is a life. A human being. A final act of strength in the face of unimaginable pain.

• Soldiers pissing on a bound, blindfolded detainee while laughing and joking about October 7
• Interrogators torturing detainees by tying cable ties around their genitals
• An officer executing an unarmed Palestinian who had surrendered with hands up, then covering it up as a “terrorist killed”
• Widespread excitement in units over “special means” used to kill people in tunnels, while one soldier said it reminded him of the Holocaust
• A tank gunning down five Palestinians crossing a line (four killed), followed by a D9 bulldozer burying the bodies in sand
• Soldiers opening fire on unarmed civilians, including an old man and three teenage boys who turned out to be completely unarmed
• Looting Palestinian homes, burning photos, and urinating on personal belongings for fun
The impact back home has been brutal.
Soldiers are throwing out mirrors because they can’t look at themselves.
Others are breaking down crying in public. Many are struggling with suicidal thoughts, shame, and nightmares.
These soldiers will carry this for decades.
