China has the scale and industrial capacity to ignore American economic sanctions and get away with it. Poorer and weaker countries in the developing world do not and can very much still be harmed by it. See Cuba. The question is whether China is willing to come in and bail US sanctioned countries. Don't get your hopes up on that.
