Beginning of year screening for K includes 1st sound fluency (I say word, they identify 1st sound). One student not at benchmark so we spend a few minutes each day working on this skill 1:1. Love this kit w objects for practice! (“What’s a newspaper?” 😂)

Today we played “find the turkey” - the kids had to guess which of our learned sounds the paper turkey was hiding under! We are using our @spelfabet embedded mnemonics as a scaffold for our beginning students.
