@nangleberger

it's hard to continuously care about the bengals knowing that the ownership doesn't care about winning 😔🐅

I'm not opposed to Rueben Bain at #10 but it wouldn't be as great of a pick as everyone seems to think.

@andreperrotta13 also, fwiw, the 2025 Lions had the 3rd highest APY/Cap ratio (138%) we've seen since at least 2011 so it makes sense they'd lose some APY and, as of rn, they're still 5th in the league for 2026 bengals are 18th for 2026. avg 99%. L5 avg 102%

Lions lack of big game FA shopping is likely due to the fact that their stellar first four picks of the 2023 draft are now extension-eligible. RB Gibbs LB Campbell TE LaPorta S Branch They'll definitely extend two of these four this summer (likely Gibbs & Campbell), and likely three (LaPorta). They are already paying Joseph near the top of the safety market, so they may hold off on Branch. Which really puts the focus on a team's Cash budget, which is the better lens through which to view and assess all of this, for any team, especially CIN. So the question should be: should the Bengals aim to spend 110%+ cash over cap in the prime Burrow years, or should they continue with their standard ~106% cash over cap? By keeping the yr-1 Cap Hits high, they hinder their ability to spend more (not recklessly, but strategically) in that current season. What does future flexibity matter if you never actually push the envelope a bit? And again, you can always just rollover any unused cap space, thus preserving both current year and next year cap flexibility. But by inflating the yr-1 cap, you purposely lose that current year cap flexibility to strategically spend a bit more to add a piece or two or three to add contributors so that you are not relying on middling players like Cam Sample or even Lawrence Guy on your defensive line during prime Joe Burrow years.

Because Hendrickson was at the finish line and they knew they were going to fail his physical to get out of the trade 🕵️‍♂️

Maxx Crosby says on @TheRushWithMaxx that he didn’t see #Ravens GM Eric DeCosta or HC Jesse Minter during the first 5 hours of his visit, and when he finally met with DeCosta, the energy felt off. DeCosta then informed him they had concerns about his medicals. “I was thinking in my head, ‘what the f***?’” Crosby said his surgeon later called him and told him to listen to what they were saying: “They know you had your surgery nine weeks ago… You’ll be back by training camp.”

covering the bengals around this time means reading between the lines posted on the mothership. "the first wave of free agency" being used here indicates they are still looking bengals.com/news/bengals-c…

If Maxx's account is accurate, this is a bad look for the Ravens and GM Eric DeCosta to not even greet/meet with Maxx when he first entered the facility. An initial meet/greet would have obviously been before Crosby underwent the MRI with the Ravens' medical staff, so why wouldn't EDC meet with him upon arrival? Perhaps because EDC knew he was already going to renege on the deal and didn't want to show face. Also hard to believe EDC's utter BS last week when he said that, "No one was more devasted than (him/EDC)..." that the trade didn't go through. You didn't even care to greet the dude upon arrival, Eric.

@BMeek23 @JonnyBengal consensus had him as an early 3rd rounder and he's stayed the same post combine he's definitely someone i'd be targeting hard at 41 (unless we go bain or bailey at 10 ofc)

@nangleberger @JonnyBengal Thats insane imo. He's a guy who was a round 4 guy prior to the combine. I'd consider him at 72, but 2nd round is way to high for me.

If it’s a full on tank (it is) why did they shell out for Malik Willis?
Ari Meirov@MySportsUpdate

The #Dolphins will have over $165M in dead money on their 2026 salary cap this upcoming season. More than $165M of a $301.2M cap will be devoted to players no longer on the team. That includes Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Jalen Ramsey, Minkah Fitzpatrick, and several others.

@SamMonsonNFL Miami was already last in total APY on the team before this trade (total of top 50 contracts. data from spotrac) now they traded away their top APY (28.3m) this is how you tank lol
