Did anyone else in #Melbourne just see a big green ball of light fall out of the night sky? It was unreal!

@lilleyjuice Point Leo is a good starter spot - it’s very close to the city; but also close to facilities etc. We also just got back from Inverloch - it was great. Nice toilets. We stayed at the Inverloch foreshore campsite which is nice

@AndrewWear @FinancialReview The human experience of a pandemic or war has so much more emotion embedded than that of a financial crisis. Being faced with lack of freedom and mortality hopefully creates a community ripe for a roaring recovery
English

This time, Australia needs to nail the recovery.
The next decade needs to be less like the one following the GFC, and more like the Roaring Twenties that the United States experienced after the Spanish flu.

@meladoodle The Cheap Seats is my 11yo son’s favourite show and he’s been telling anyone that will listen. We were watching the project tonight and he said ‘I used to think the project was funny but that was before The Cheap Seats’.

@farnanindc Puts everything in perspective. Hoping for peace especially for all the women, girls and minority groups for whom this is tragic.

Reading up on what is happening in Afghanistan. Devastating.
Their President left the country. Now, a “peaceful transfer” of power to perhaps the least peaceful group on Earth awaits.

@lilleyjuice Thank god I’m old. Only has to spend a few hours on the phone not days!

There has been a lot of misinformation circulating about @pbol800. Yes he is an amazing Sudanese/Australian runner. Yes he might win the 800m final. No he did not come to Australia from a refugee camp. Facts matter. Me for @GuardianAus from #Tokyo2020 theguardian.com/sport/2021/aug…
