If we abstract this out much further, I'm curious, if you could wave a magic wand and every nation had a unique culture and people or every nation had the same culture and people, which would you choose?
Would you agree that regardless of the underlying motives of each faction it's clear that the policies of the right will lead to more global human diversity and the policies of the left will lead to less?

Unfortunately, I think the situation is far worse than this. Palestinians demand expulsion/genocide of the Israelis. If the U.S. and Europe do abandon Israel (which seems likely), the only way for the Israelis to survive will be to *actually* expel/genocide the Palestinians.

The great failure of 60/40 and risk parity was holding bonds at ZIRP "for portfolio diversification benefit". Pricing matters.
Today Gold and commodities have saved every portfolio that was smart enough to hold them.
Daily you hear about the essential need for holding these assets "for portfolio diversification benefit"
At DampedSpring we are currently quite concerned that pricing matters and these assets are now priced like bonds at ZIRP

The next steps in the US military campaign against Iran will commit nearly its entire inventory of stealthy JASSM-ER cruise missiles, drawing them from stockpiles devoted to other regions.
The order to pull the $1.5 million weapon from Pacific stockpiles was issued at the end of March, according to a person with direct knowledge of the matter. Missiles at US facilities elsewhere, including the continental US, will be moved to US Central Command bases or Fairford in the UK, said the person, who was granted anonymity to discuss sensitive details.
After the moves, only about 425 JASSM-ER out of a prewar inventory of 2,300 will remain available for the rest of the globe. That would be roughly enough for 17 B-1B bombers on a single mission. Another 75 or so are “unserviceable” because of damage or technical faults.

FWIW, its a lot easier to hold this mix if you've already got a nice cushion of gains in the bank YTD rather than chasing from underwater.

The challenge right now is that there are two possible futures (escalation & descalation) with nearly opposite economic outcomes & asset returns.
The most prudent path is to position for either outcome, but the result will inevitably underperform whatever reality comes ahead.
