So….I found this in my garage this morning. Ummm We have 3 dogs but no cats. We have never even had a cat before. Mom hisses a lot at us but we put kitty food and water down and they calmed down a bit.

You only have to go back a couple of hundred years and parents - reasonably and realistically - expected half their children to die before reaching adulthood. You throw away the benefits of modern medicine - including vaccines - and you go back to that era. Children are already dying because people don’t remember - or rather, seem determined to forget - this history.

@RossKneeDeep Did you ever read a history book to find out that it was a thing already in the 19th century?

Here's a question. Did you ever in your wildest dreams think that people in America could be rounded up and sent to concentration camps?

@AlecStapp @HodLmeistr I don't give a fuck about what a LLM says when I have a degree in this stuff. Copper oxidises on air and the architects damn well knew it. There's no way to varnish it or something to keep it look coppery.

@LibertySnake76 @native_ame_soul The aim of schools is not to produce Ph. D. level specialists. But I think that even that one page summary, however inexact, is a good start.

@native_ame_soul If you want to learn history, you have to study it yourself. What's covered in one page on a textbook for high school is covered in volumes of books.

@LummisofLA @native_ame_soul This is akin to saying that Holocaust was kinda okay because some of the people who perished were actual criminals. Hey - it's been a thing since Middle Ages to buy out slaves and free them. Where were the good Christians who cared about Cherokee slaves that much?

Suzanne Lummis 🌊 Truth against Lies.
@native_ame_soul Yes, it should be taught -- but the moral complexities should not be concealed. Cherokees died of disease and starvation on this forced march, and so did their slaves. The tribes did take black slaves with them. History is messy--many villians, many victims, few heros.

@RadicallyRight_ @native_ame_soul Yes, because European tribes lived together in peace since time immemorial, never hurt any fellow human being, never did a bad thing and they thus had God-given right to do nasty things unto others. Riiiiight.

Yes—the truth should be taught in schools. All of it. Not just the parts that fit a modern narrative. The Trail of Tears was tragic and unjust. But let’s not pretend history is some black-and-white comic book. • Native tribes often battled each other for land and resources. • Many were incredibly violent—ask the Pawnee, Comanche, Apache, Mohawk, or Iroquois. Some tribes owned African slaves. • Many allied with the Confederacy during the Civil War. • And yes, it was Democrat president Andrew Jackson who signed the Indian Removal Act. So let’s teach the truth. But all of it—not the cherry-picked, sanitized, white-guilt version pumped out by leftist textbooks. #TeachRealHistory #TruthNotTribalism #RadicallyRight

@AidanCTweets I'll just add that when I had 20 kilos less and short hair, it was usually women who would calle Sir. Usually, it was Sir, could you hand me a thing from the top shelf. Apart from being tall-ish, I have prominent facial structure. I didn't look like a man in wig...

Joanne, while I don't generally comment on appearance, the irony here is that if you were not a famous author, some might mistake you for being an older trans woman. As you must know, there are accounts on Twitter that "trans-investigate" you. So, no, people can't always tell. 1/
J.K. Rowling@jk_rowling

Aidan, we all know you're crazier than a box of meth-addled frogs, but claiming that women can't recognise men if they're wearing skirts and wigs is extreme, even for you.

Before Trump, I didn’t know it was possible to loathe a human being this deeply. Didn’t swear like a fucking sailor either.
And I definitely never daydreamed this hard about someone vanishing off the face of the planet. And I’m not even American, for fuck’s sake!
