@nxcoventry Hello, I left my water bottle on the #17 that left the hospital at 18.08. I departed at Pool Meadow and forgot it. Any chance of getting it back? Is there a contact? Thanks.

Dear @UHCWCharity, while your nature reserve is otherwise very lovely, I regret to tell you that you have a bamboo problem. This is invasive bamboo and is taking over the reserve.

@hankgreen Imagine not being American and trying to do the connections every day. People saying they're too easy make me want to cry, but then I remember it makes sense I don't know every American football team (actually, I think it's often more basketball, but still)

@oldenoughtosay @YellsOnPolitics @Siwelthelongboi Huh. I was so buzzed from anesthesia and not being in pain for the first time in years that I didn't notice this. Three days later everything was hurt again but fun while it lasted.

It's baffling to me that some of y'all see stuff in your mind. You SEE it? The way your eyes see? I always thought "visualize" meant thinking of the words/ideas/feelings associated with a thing, not actual visuals. I am such a total 5 on this scale I didn't know 1-4 existed.

HUGE NEWS and what it means: This morning, @USAID, @StopTB, and @GlobalFund jointly announced that Danaher will lower the price of their standard TB test cartridge by 20% to $7.97. This isn't the 50% reduction we hoped for BUT... @DanaherCorp is also committing to ZERO profit in their distribution of standard TB tests to impoverished communities. They will sell the cartridges at cost and bring in an "internationally accredited third-party" to assess prices and adjust them accordingly so that Danaher earns no profit from selling these cartridges. That is a huge deal. It means if Danaher's costs decline with increased volume, the price of the cartridges will further decline. Just for some perspective, if (conservatively) 10 million cartridges are sold annually at the reduced price, this deal would save the poorest communities and those who serve them $200,000,000 over the next decade. This is a massive win for people living with and fighting TB around the world, and it's a credit to years of activism by @MSF_access, @TAGTeam_Tweets, @PIH, and others. There are many questions still outstanding, of course, and we hope that Danaher will take a similar course with their extensively drug resistant TB test cartridges. But I for one am very grateful to be able to celebrate today, even as the fight for universal access to treatment and diagnostics continues. theglobalfund.org/en/news/2023/2…

Morning, @DanaherCorp. I notice you haven't responded to calls to stop price-gouging poor countries for TB tests. Just like you didn't respond to open letters from Doctors without Borders. Perhaps you are hoping the storm will blow over. Well, you're trending. #PeopleOverProfits

See, the thing is @CepheidNews makes this amazing TB test that can tell doctors whether a patient has TB and, if so, which antibiotics that TB is resistant to. Which is amazing…when doctors can afford to use it. They sell it through a printer-ink business model, where the machines are cheap, but the cartridges that do the test are sold at 300% to 500% margins. There are tens of millions of tests done per year. But many places cannot afford them. Please tweet to @CepheidNews and their parent company @DanaherCorp to tell them that it will be great for their business (which has $8B in profit, and TB tests are not a huge part of it!!) if they lowered the cost!! I want to celebrate science, not feel like access to something that could save hundreds of thousands of lives is being denied to patients because they cannot afford the price.

We call on Cepheid to drop the price of the GeneXpert test for TB and all other diseases to $5, so many more lives can be saved. Join us in tweeting @CepheidNews & @DanaherCorp to choose people over profits! 👉bit.ly/48hwMUO#TimeFor5

. @DanaherCorp makes 8 billion dollars in annual profits. Much of that profit comes from price-gouging the world's poorest countries for life-saving tuberculosis tests. Danaher has done this in the dark for 13 long years. Today, we shine the light. #PeopleOverProfits

Are you familiar with the printer ink business model? Sell a printer for a modest profit because you'll make the real money from forcing people to buy your ink? IT's also known as the razor blade business model. Danaher sells its diagnostic machines at a small profit and then price gouges for tests--thus denying millions access to affordable, accurate tests for tuberculosis. And then THEY BRAG ABOUT IT TO THEIR SHAREHOLDERS. Just listen to @DanaherCorp CEO Rainer Blair. #PeopleOverProfits

@80kiki80 Oh. That's much nicer and tidier that every sample I've had to do in hospitals in the UK which is just 'leave it in the toilet' which means it gets left on the side of the sink or on top of a bin. We don't have nice cupboards. 😂

@hankgreen Not be a fun-ruiner, but those shelves are definitely there for bodily fluid sample jars. I love the idea of jazzing it up, but wear gloves and a mask while redecorating 😉

Ok everybody…help. At my infusion center the bathroom has a cabinet. It is empty. It has four shelves. I decided I would put dinosaurs on tone of the shelves because that would be whimsical. But now they seem lonely. Also, what if someone created whimsical backgrounds for whimsical scenes and I printed them out and put them in there? Each shelf is 11 inches across 7.5 deep The bottom one is 8 inches high Next up (dinosaur shelf) 9 high Next up 7.5 Top one 6.5
