@GreeneH0F I also didn’t lie about his skill level. On many teams he’s a frontline starter. I don’t think he is on contenders. You seem really skilled on labeling someone

@GreeneH0F I didn’t claim to be upset. I thought this was an adult and civil conversation. Interesting take on your part….

@GreeneH0F Most teams that aren’t contenders. On teams good enough to win it all. He’s 4th or 5th starter. He’s injury prone and too inconsistent

I think more fans need to make it their personal responsibility to fix the Cincinnati Reds. Otherwise, how else will it get done?

The Reds are a bottom 5 offense. The Reds are the worst team in baseball with RISP. The Reds bullpen is absolutely awful. The Reds starting pitching is all hurt.

@BigRedTweeter @philipgrone Can you name any homegrown Reds players in recent memory who have gone to other organizations and gotten better at the plate? Guys like Benson, Stephenson, Friedl and McLain are marginal players. They would be lucky to be playing for a contender with the best hitting coach

My great fear is that when it comes time to bring Hunter Greene back the Reds will be so far out it that there are serious discussions to just shut him down all year. I hope not but it’s the Reds so nothing is off the table.

KeyBryan Hayes is the worst Reds front office move of my life. Why? Reds acquired KeyBryan Hayes on July 30th, 2025. At the time they were 57-52, 3 games out of a playoff spot. They were below average in nearly every offensive category at the time but for context they were 22nd in baseball in wRC+. They answered those qualms by trading for Hayes (among others). At the time of the trade here is where he ranked amongst qualified 3B. AVG: 13/16 OBP: 16/16 SLG: 16/16 OPS: 16/16 wRC+: 16/16 K%: 11/16 BB%: 16/16 And you are probably thinking to yourself, well, he must have just been having a really down year. Had to be a buy low, right? NOPE. 2024 (did qualify numbers so ranked amongst guys with 350 PA’s): AVG: 26/34 OBP: 30/34 SLG: 34/34 OPS: 34/34 wRC+: 34/34 K%: 22/34 BB%: 25/34 2023: AVG: 5/21 OBP: 20/21 SLG: 12/21 OPS: 14/21 wRC+: 17/21 K%: 8/21 BB%: 21/21 2022: AVG: 16/22 OBP: 18/22 SLG: 22/22 OPS: 22/22 wRC+: 22/22 K%: 13/22 BB%: 14/22 We are not just talking about a bad offensive player. We are talking about a guy who for 3.5 years of professional baseball was the worst offensive player at his position in the sport AND IT WASN’T EVEN CLOSE. He would be considered a bad acquisition if he was being paid $500,000 and you got him for a bucket of balls from the Florence Freedom. But instead? He’s your 4th highest paid player on this years roster and you gave up a top 10 prospect to get him! Surely, this signing won’t impact the future tho. WRONG AGAIN! Only Hunter Greene has more future money on the books than the 29 million (assuming team option is declined) KeyBryan Hayes is owed. It was/remains a baffling move. There is no amount of defense that makes this move worth it. TJ Friedl is still playing CF because they traded for KeyBryan Hayes. The outfield was not addressed because of KeyBryan Hayes. Matt McLain has zero pressure because of KeyBryan Hayes. We are not yet 100 games into his Reds tenure and it is already an unequivocal failure. The manager is debating pinch hitting for the guy in the 4TH INNING OF MAY BASEBALL GAMES. FIRE. NICK. KRALL.

If im management, this lineup has til the end of May to get it together. If not, im sending McLain to AAA, Benson to wherever, Friedl to any team that will take him, Stephenson to the moon, and im just leaning into the youth and working toward 2027. This offense sucks.

@jessa_91 Who do they trade him for? Easier said than done. This team isn’t getting a high priced player or players in return. The Reds don’t have much leverage.

@JimBowdenGM That’s why they should trade him now while his value is sky high. Get a Juan Soto X 1.5 package for him. But Reds are incompetent franchise—- no help from you, who traded Kearns & Lopez for two washed relievers & Royce Clayton. Thank you.

A fan poll today would probably target some grouping of Hayes, McLain, Benson, Stephenson, , Friedl, Trevino, Myers, etc to be replaced... And yet....those same fans conclude the answer is firing the hitting coach. Sure, the 7th hitting coach since 2013 will certainly fix the scouting, drafting, developing, trading, free agent signing and general identifying of talent mess of Nick Krall and this organization. #Reds

@sjboilers2 It’s on the player to make adjustments necessary at the major league level based on their ability and help from the hitting coach. What if they just aren’t good enough? Fans don’t always consider this. Some guys just can’t get it done. It’s not uncommon. Happens in every sport

@LanceMcAlister When guys come out of the minors hitting well and collapse, it’s on the coach at the major league level. When they go back to the minors and succeed it’s because of the coaching there. The major league coaching is terrible.

@Malachi98H @RedsDaily4 Blame ownership. It’s their decision to settle with mediocre players. Elly is the only proven guy in the starting lineup who can hit somewhat consistently. Stewart is still young and unproven.
