Judaism is comprised of 613 mitzvot. A fully practicing Jew must adhere to all 613 commandments. Of course, innumerable Jews do not do so, myself included. It's not because we practice some more modern form of Judaism. Rather, it is because we choose to ignore those elements that we do not wish to incorporate into our daily lives. I eat shrimp not because I practice a watered-down version of Judaism but because I love shrimp. That I eat shrimp says nothing about Judaism and everything about me. The same applies to all of your lovely and peaceful Muslim friends. They are lovely and peaceful because they are so in their dispositions as human beings. Islam's CENTRAL doctrine is to rule the entire world. Your nice Muslim friends might not care to do so but this is because they are ignoring that fundamental edict. If the West does not wake up from its cognitive stupor regarding this matter, we will lose our civilization.
