@JuliaHB1 What a ridiculous and completely false statement. Step out of your privileged bubble and stop hating on children.

The breakfasts are not free. They are paid for by taxes - mostly on parents who feed their own kids. Most of these 10,000 children would have had a perfectly healthy breakfast at home without these clubs. This isn't about helping the poorest kids, it's the state taking over the basic job of parenting.
Angela Rayner@AngelaRayner

My pleasure to welcome @Keir_Starmer @AndyBurnhamGM and @bphillipsonMP to Holy Trinity primary school in Ashton this morning. 33 new free breakfast clubs will open across Greater Manchester this week, giving 10,000 more children a free, healthy start to the school day. That’s Labour on your side. 🌹

@ZiaYusufUK I’m not saying money isn’t spent in the wrong places, but you need to stop demonising WFH. Many that do it, are more productive that if in the workplace, do it out of necessity and couldn’t work if they didn’t have that opportunity.

Kent County Council spends £100,000,000 of taxpayer money per year on employees that ‘work from home’. Reform’s DOGE team spent several days there and the office was a wasteland. Nobody working. The CEO says these employees have monitoring software on their laptops but she does not “actively check” whether their employees are using them. Kent Council is refusing point blank any analysis of the (anonymised) data. I wonder why? There is much, much more to reveal about just how much Kent Council is taking advantage of taxpayers.

@HeidiBachram @Dawn_French I’m so so sorry you and your loved ones have gone through this, I do not profess to understand either sides history as fully as I should, but I do pray and hope that this war stops. Every innocent person deserves to be remembered and justice served, but enough blood has been shed

An open letter to @Dawn_French Dear Dawn, I have watched the video that you posted about the war between Hamas and Israel. You are entitled to your view of course and I am sympathetic to the plight of ordinary Gazans who did not participate or endorse the terrorist attacks of October 7. Yet your video describing the Hamas massacre as a “bad thing” in a mocking tone appears to minimise or dismiss the severity and horror inflicted that terrible day. My husband’s cousin Tsachi Idan was at home asleep when the terrorists invaded his kibbutz. The family hid in the safe room but there was no lock so he held it shut. The terrorists forced, at gunpoint, a local teenager to try to lure them out. When that did not work they fired at head height at the door. Tsachi’s eldest daughter Ma’ayan was helping her father protect the family. The bullet hit her in the head and she died instantly. We know every detail of this horror because Hamas were live streaming and recording. They then held the family inside their home for five hours and it became their base of operations while they murdered and kidnapped dozens of civilians on the kibbutz. They marched Tsachi to Gaza covered in his child’s blood. There he was held hostage for many months until at some point he was killed. His body was returned in February. We will never recover from this trauma. Never. The entire universe has changed. There are still 56 more hostages in Gaza and 56 more families suffering this unfathomable torture. To describe this so glibly adds to a deep well of pain. Since then at home in Brighton & Hove we have witnessed the celebration of the murder of our family, seen antisemitism triple, seen Hamas supported. We have been attacked and harassed. The world has become a hostile place. I do hope that you can find empathy in your heart for us and the many thousands of people who were murdered, raped, maimed and kidnapped that day. For them and their families and friends. I hope too that you will delete your insulting video and be more respectful and kind in further expressions on this conflict. In hope.

@piersmorgan You’re posting this stating how shocked you are, seriously we all knew, YOU KNEW. Elon hasn’t made himself look any better by admitting to the world he was in bed and openly supporting a pedo for his own personal gain.

@NicholasLissack @Keir_Starmer @SadiqKhan You don’t have a clue what you’re talking about. The greatest scientists in this field of study all agree it should be legalised, and other countries that have done so have seen the positive impact. Also you can get it on prescription in the uk since 2018…

No, Sadiq Khan. Cannabis possession should absolutely not be decriminalised. Regular use is linked to cognitive decline and a higher risk of mental health disorders. And frankly, no one wants to walk through clouds of weed on the high street. Penalties should be tougher.

@CPhilpOfficial Cannabis has been available on prescription in the uk since 2018, get your facts right. We are way behind many other developed countries when it comes to drug laws and it shows in the impact on our population. Don’t argue against what you don’t understand.

Cannabis is illegal for good reasons Sadiq Khan should concentrate on getting the Metropolitan Police to apply the law equally to everybody, rather than playing these stupid politically correct games to appeal to some of his left wing supporters

@BenKaxton The paramedic has taken no vital signs in that video so would have no idea what’s going on internally. The patients adrenaline would still be going keeping him talking, also a heart attack is not a cardiac arrest.

@smelenoff Just like in the uk, it’s basically been legalised by outdated laws, and biased jury’s. In the uk professionals in the field are advocating for any sexual offence trial to be judged by a Judged not a jury as there is so much evidence to show jury’s are biased in these trails.
