After a full public hearing, the Medical Practitioners Tribunal found every allegation unproven. The GMC is now asking the High Court to review the decision. This case raises a question of fundamental importance for doctors and other regulated professions: When an independent specialist tribunal has heard all the evidence and found the allegations not proved, in what circumstances is it lawful for the regulator to overturn that decision? That's why Professor @maynard_nick is speaking up in support of Ghassan and in support of doctors everywhere. Your support funds a fundamental legal test about fairness and the rule of law.
