The farmer who give blind advice from 2500 miles away. You need to stop talking you turn off the lights for your chickens and let them recoup doesn’t pencil out for someone living in northern Idaho. Four months with no eggs $1200 in feed we will never recoup the cost from the year. This blind advice is ignorant and will causelost at many small farms

Fighting rain, putting out fires, and working every waking hour to keep the momentum. Things are great, but I have to ask: When does the feeling that it’s all about to fall apart actually go away?

Don’t move to Idaho, I’m living next to a couple from Washington and California. 600 acres for 1.6 million.They brought their two Mexican farm workers, and look for every USDA handout. They even started a business across the border in Washington called cultivated coffee. Why in a state they fled? 2.1 million dollar downtown revitalization project, that’s why?

Everyone hollers “move to Idaho”. I’d looked in the past so I looked again. North Idaho housing costs as much if not more than my area of WA and the wages for what I do (machinist/programmer) are half of what they are here in WA. Montana is just as bad.
