Social media would have you believe the generation behind us is lost but I'm not so sure. Every Sunday morning I walk into church and watch over 700 college students come through the doors. They live 30 minutes away and show up anyway. They're not just going through the motions either. They're serving coffee, taking care of kids, and bringing an energy that puts most of us to shame. I'll be honest, I was not on fire for Jesus at 20 years old. I had filled that space with a lot of other things. So I'm encouraged watching them step outside of what I'm sure most of their peers are doing on a Saturday night in order to show up week after week. It's a reminder that the hunger for something deeper and real doesn't go away just because the world gets more distracted and broken. If anything, I think the brokenness is what's driving them there. Jesus isn't struggling or losing ground. He's meeting young hearts right in the middle of the chaos and they are responding. The mainstream narrative doesn't have a segment for that story but it's happening all over the world. Don't let the noise convince you the next generation is gone. Some of the most on-fire people I've been around haven't even hit 25 yet.
