Magazine catches are wear items, particularly with steel magazine. Top is from a 2011 that’s shot over 30k rounds. Bottom is from one that hasn’t hit 5k yet. I have a replacement for the top catch inbound.

Put this stage together for local Thursday night match. Turned out good. It was hot and I was tired so I opted out of setting up the swinger.

Stage 14 Area 1 Championship

@victorymfgcom @atl_flaneur I’ll be shooting Glocks. No plans on going back anytime soon.

@nathanbarnes828 @atl_flaneur Yo Nate, good to see you on x. did you dump the shadow2 for a glock? Or just changing it up?

Competitors by division for the Area 1 championship earlier this month. CO and LO represent 65% of the field, there's heat in Open and PCC, and the rest are rounding errors. The people in L10 are mostly shooting 1911s with slide-ride optics. The iron-sight divisions (LTD, PRD, SS) look dead. Sad to see as someone who enjoyed shooting PRD for years.

@atl_flaneur Delete CO at this point. Open, PCC, and LO. Remove the rest from majors unless they can get 25+ in that division.

@nathanbarnes828 You’d never arrive at the current division layout if starting USPSA today, not to mention Major/Minor scoring. The divisions for PCSL make a lot more sense.

Good first dry-fire session of the year. Cycled through my 2011s working on quickly moving my vision between small points on the targets, driving the dot there quickly, and getting a smooth trigger press that doesn’t move the pistol once it arrives.

@atl_flaneur @BenStoeger187 Interesting. I was having hammer follow here and there on mine on ULSC when racking the gun hard (empty). I’ll try cleaning the disconnecter channel.

@BenStoeger187 Interesting that the HD 4 and 4.5 are so different. When I don’t clean my XL, the failure mode is usually hammer follow from a dirty disconnector channel after a few thousand rounds.

Pushing speed usually doesn’t work out this well. The next few runs at this pace had a miss here or there, usually on steel or over the top of the horizontal partials. But if you do it once, you can do it again!
