Numbers weren’t necessarily there tonight but I reckon that was de Goey’s best game in a couple years. Huge out of the middle. Sidebottom/Frampton BOG. Give Oscar Steene a lifetime contract

@rossmacleodputt Can be both I play with my old man weekly for the social element and to spend time with him, but we are extremely competitive. He hasn't beaten me in our little comp we have in over 2 years... so there's that I'll never let him beat me!

Primarily I believe there’s 2 ways or reasons to play golf. 1. For fun. Social game. You would prefer playing well obviously but it’s not that important. You don’t really work on your game or get coaching. 2. For the competitive element. To get better. To work on your game. Be driven by lowering your handicap or competing in big tournaments. Both of these options are fine. Just got to choose. Often golfers in their 30s/40s might prefer to be a 2 but due to time constraints have to settle for being a 1. Golf is time consuming. So. Are you a 1 or a 2?

Chappell Roan seems to be making two different points, one of them right and one of them wrong, and conflating the two. The first is that she shouldn't be harassed, stalked, have her privacy invaded, have the right to say "no" when asked for a selfie, etc., and she's correct on all of that. But the second is that she's entitled to treat global fame as an on/off switch. She should be able to be globally famous when she wants but also anonymous when she wants. She wants to be recognized as an artistic icon when she's walking down the street, and she also wants everyone else to pretend they don't recognize her when she's walking down the street. She wants the notoriety and all the cool shit that comes with being globally admired, which is perfectly valid, but she also wants to walk into any public space and expect that fans won't come up and ask for a selfie. There are countless artists who produce widely admired art and don't seek out global fame. They love creating art that other people enjoy and they want more people to enjoy it but they also don't leverage huge PR resources to push that art. They don't go out of their way to be recognized. Chappell Roan does leverage PR. She wants screen time. She wants good publicity. She wants to be recognized as a celebrity on sight. That's all fine. Nothing wrong with that. But she also wants her fans to adore her public presence while pretending she doesn't exist when she's right in front of them in a public space, which is very odd and unreasonable. And it's silly as hell to conflate that very unreasonable demand--that fans should read her mind and shouldn't walk up in public and ask for a selfie--with her correct point that she shouldn't have her privacy violated or be harassed. She should be able to turn down taking a selfie, no doubt, but wanting her fans to not ask for a selfie in the first place when her career hinges on public adoration? C'mon, Chappell. You know that doesn't make any sense.

My boyfriend and I were sharing a spicy hot pot when a little girl at the next table kept staring at us Suddenly she asked her mom, “Why are those two guys holding hands?” We awkwardly let go of each other’s hands But the mom knelt down and said calmly “Because they love each other, just like mommy and daddy do.” She looked up at us with a smile “Don’t worry about it kids are naturally curious.”.......

So basically if you choose to bump a player they can retaliate with a hit. So going forward there shouldn’t be any free kicks paid against a player defending themselves from a bump if they catch a player high is that the take away from this MRO decision?

No case to answer for Comben after the AFL decided Reid “abruptly changed direction” to veer into his opponent and that Comben’s actions didn’t constitute a strike

The WCE have struggled for years. Despite this in 2025 they had a 107k members only 5k less than Collingwood. 15k more than Richmond. This week they play away to Port. The time provided for this game means their fans are watching at 10am. National competition? Give it a spell!

Victoria Police will now investigate this matter, with the help of the MCG. League statement: “The AFL is working with the MCG to investigate the matter. A patron threw a soft drink bottle at the final siren towards Hawthorn players. The alledged offender was not from the Swans cheersquad and his identity is currently unknown. We have the best fans in the world, but throwing objects at players will never be acceptable and if caught you will lose the privilege of being able to attend the footy. Victoria Police will now investigate the matter with assistance from the MCG, which will provide all relevant information.” @1116sen

Happy to stand corrected, but according to Dr Google: No VFL/AFL footballer has been recorded being directly hit by a lightning bolt on the field in 130 seasons of competition.

@nathanjsmith86 @tommorris32 They don’t sell cans in the ground. They sell soft drink in 600ml bottles, and beer in plastic cups. Tell me you don’t go to the footy without saying you don’t go to the footy.

needs to be a rule that if a player is injured and requires trainers to walk them off, they should be allowed to exit ANYWHERE on the field and another player come on the ground. ah chee walking through the middle of the ground is 1. dangerous and 2. a disadvantage to the crows

@halime36784 @tommorris32 Then the spectators should sit there quietly and not say bad things about anyone, definitely not abusing the players or umpires I look forward to you policing that for us

@tommorris32 Well let hope the person who threw the bottle is found and dealt with. Also players need to be reminded not to mouth off at spectators as well. No body is above abuse, it doesn’t matter what standing you have in the community.
