@SaulStaniforth But look at those hand gestures, this is a trust worthy guy who is open and honest, delivering a strong message...or maybe he's just another twat.

Dan Tomlinson says the govt won't be rolling out a universal scheme to help everyone with their energy bills. Instead it'll take targeted steps. The interviewer asks him who'll receive the targeted help & when it will be available. Dan refuses to say

Play the ball not the man, Andrew! There's this weird thing going on where it's become trendy on the right to assert that the only relevant experience for political decision making is having run a business. I find it odd that someone can think there's no merit in acquiring skills, knowledge and competence at working in policy and politics before becoming an MP. Or that different people can't bring valid broader life experience/perspectives to the offices they hold. Very blinkered!
Andrew Griffith MP@griffitha

The arrogance of Labour Treasury ministers on full display. An inexperienced PPE graduate who has never run a business in his life thinks he knows better than the CEO of a major retailer. Zero self awareness. A growing crisis of youth unemployment and they just don’t get it.

Translation: "We lied about literally everything in the lead up to the election to get your vote, so we know exactly what you want. We didn't do any of those things. But we still say we have a mandate. I'm going to do all that again in an effort to lead the party. Please comply."

This week I’m on the road to hear directly from people who have lost faith in Labour, why and what we need to do to earn back their trust. Today, I’m visiting a farm with Joe Morris MP in Hexham to hear from some of Britain’s farmers👇

@martinmccluskey @ofgem Every time you cut things the price goes up, my wages are worth less and cost of living gets closer to impossible. So I was going to say you must be wrong but you're open hand gestures, man on the street video and looped stock music are just so convincing.

Today @ofgem announced the next energy price cap.   We've already acted – cutting the price cap by £117 from April, expanding the Warm Home Discount to 6m households & freezing fuel duty.   Ahead of winter, we’ll continue to monitor the situation and plan for all contingencies.

Tony Blair has massively misdiagnosed the problems facing the UK. Abandoning net zero would put us at great risk of price shocks and instability in future. The government should instead be focusing on delivering investment in the green transition and our public services.
Times Radio@TimesRadio

Keir Starmer should rip up Ed Miliband’s “unnecessary” net zero agenda, Tony Blair tells #TimesRadio. “It’s not that I'm a climate denier, but it's just coming to terms with this reality.” @CalumAM

This is the reason her party hasn’t recovered in polls. She knows the rise is largely due to the Iran war and wholesale costs; so do the public of course, and the market. And yet she persists in this puerile partisan gesture. Sleepwalking into irrelevance.
Kemi Badenoch@KemiBadenoch

Energy bills are rising again. Labour will blame Iran, but you’re paying more because of Ed Miliband’s net zero taxes and refusal to drill our own oil and gas. Our Cheap Power Plan would cut bills by 20% by scrapping the green taxes, scrapping VAT and drilling in the North Sea.

Kevin O'Leary says Apple's genius is making people pay 5x more for a laptop they could buy for $350 "you can buy an Apple laptop, average price about $1,800, or you can buy the same functionality for $350 on a Windows laptop" "but you still pay $1,800. Why? Brand" "you're paying a 5x multiple in some cases for something that is exactly like a Windows machine" "I put that out to people, they say, yeah, but it's not an Apple. So there is the genius of Jobs"

@SamJRushworth @RachelReevesMP What protections are in place for when this goes live, the price goes up to eat some of the saving as profit and people don’t get the full benefit of it, then the price jumps again when the scheme runs out. It happens every time. (See eat out to help out)

I know things are hard right now. We can't control global events or turn around years of falling living standards as quickly as we'd like, but I am delighted by @RachelReevesMP actions to make it a bit easier for families to enjoy quality time together this summer.

I don't understand why there isn't a bigger push to sue these companies that use AI to steal others' work. It's the biggest IP theft in history, yet they get away with it. It's absolutely insane that they just get away with it.

@SeemaMalhotra1 @UKLabour When everything that everyone buys has increased anywhere from 40% to 100% or more, and keeps rising. Your inflation stat means absolutely nothing to anybody. Hope that helps with your messaging problem.
