@PSUNationRec Cignetti, Rhule, Golesh, Dillingam, Elko. All the other guys come from the Swoosh with the exception of Freeman with UA. Which leaves Saban and Meyer. Both Swoosh guys when they coached. Just a hunch.

@balkwhisperer @tctheatc They leave the catcher’s box to catch the pitch. This was before the just put him on rule on most levels. Saw this was the first time it’s been called since 1971 on Johnny Bench. I’m sure there’s been many attempts to steal home since then and you rarely see this called

Too many umps think they're part of the show, that folks come to see them call the game. FFS. He was safe anyway, but the ump makes the play about HIM, and HIS call, rather than the player who stole home.

So technically the catcher’s interference on Cap was because he “stepped in front of the plate” which is insanely stupid. The batter is in the on deck circle by the time Bryce slides home. These rules don’t account for normal human reaction.

@AbromitisMike @pigskinpetey I was with you until the last two sentences. I highly doubt these guys get to Omaha on merit. I know umps that are better than some of these guys, and have 200% better feel for these situations. Take a poll of coaches and I doubt a lot of these guys make the cut.

@pigskinpetey Ump gave him warning, then another warning, then let him rant some more, finally enough is enough. Coach is a known hothead. Campos wouldn't be the plate ump there if he wasn't highly rated. He's also a previous MLB ump.
