I think a cool mechanic that FFXIV misses out on is job changing during encounters to do mechanics.
Seems like a unique tool they could use for the system that already exists.
Like having one or two players have to swap to fishing during a boss phase to prevent big AOE.

At this rate, Nihon Falcom is the only Japanese studio that still understands how to make consistently solid JRPGs. Reliable releases, strong worldbuilding, great soundtracks, and gameplay that actually respects the genre.

knowing that the original dragon quest 12 was canceled for this just leave a sour taste in my mouth. the idea of the original dragon quest being too bold for the series so you just scrap the entire game and show us something that plays its extremely safe does nothing for me.
