nobody wants to hear this but I'll say it anyway the free ride on top AI models will end I just tested kimi k2.5 in cursor. solid model. but the gap to opus 4.6 is real, and the gap to codex is massive. right now labs are subsidizing your usage. that won't last forever. by end of 2026 I believe best models go to people who can pay. open source covers everyone else. it's like driving a porsche vs driving a honda everyone WANTS the porsche but most people can only afford the honda

Interesting to see that Prisma got faster after dropping Rust because queries no longer required serialization between TypeScript and a separate Rust binary. Grok Code Fast 1 came out of nowhere and still dominates on OpenRouter it's fast and accurate for simple to semi-complex refactors and feature requests there's also speculation that "Sonoma Sky/Dusk Alpha" with a 2M context is an xAI model — maybe Grok 4.20 xAI is moving fast

I created a little app today to compare image generation from gemini-2.5-flash and seedream-4.0. Seedream's model compares quite well and so far, for image generation, I like the results more. I created a few images in the comments (left: Gemini, right: Seedream)
