Children and families spent the morning with Santa Claus during the annual Breakfast with Santa Event at the NEX Main Store at U.S. Naval Base Guam (NBG) Dec. 6. Families enjoyed breakfast, games, and photos with Santa.

Santa had some help during the 11th annual Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) Guam Kid’s Christmas Shopping event held Dec. 6. More than 150 children and teens attended the annual event, which allows for them to shop through the NMCRS Thrift Shop.

Naval Base Guam (NBG) was aglow during the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Tree Lighting Festival Dec. 6. The NBG Chapel field was decorated with the holiday tree for an enchanting display of lights. It was truly a one-of-a-kind event of holiday lights and cheer!

Cmdr. Phil Smith, executive officer of U.S. Naval Base Guam (NBG), addressed a group of officers and cadets from the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) Academy about the history and logistics of Naval operations at the NBG Big Screen Theater, Dec. 4.

Families and shoppers gathered at the NEX Guam Main Store to watch the 2025 Back-to-School fashion show, Aug. 16. NEX Guam coordinated the event as a way to display different clothing styles, for all ages, available at the exchange.

NBG Executive Officer Cmdr. Phil Smith and NBG Chaplain Lt. Joshua Alderman helped mark the official start of the Guam Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) school year with a bell-ringing ceremony at Cmdr. William C. McCool Elementary and Middle School on NBG, Aug 18.

Chief Selectees from NBG were fitted for their new new uniforms and combination covers at the Navy Exchange (NEX) Guam Uniform Shop, Aug. 13. While selectees were fitted for their new uniforms, they will not be able to wear their new rank until promoted in a ceremony next month.

Sailors from U.S. Naval Base Guam (NBG) Administrative Department passed out folders, stickers, and pens to students on the first day of school at the Marcial A. Sablan Elementary campus in Hågat, Aug. 7. Welcome back to school students! Hooyah #TeamNBG!

The 81st Liberation Day parade was held on Marine Corps Drive, from Adelup to Chamorro Village July 21. Dozens of marching units and floats were part of the parade including NBG and its tenant commands. Thousands of residents lined Route 1 to watch the parade event.

Youth from NBG participated in the NBG Chapel’s Vacation Bible School, July 7 – 11. About 150 youth and volunteers participated during the week-long event. VBS is offered each summer, and is an opportunity for the chapel to connect with children and families within the community.
