@TJNear What is the "feathered" feature in fig 1a? It's not the part they are interested in. A bryophyte?

We've (including @thesteinegger @milot_mirdita ) updated ColabFold to use the latest optimized AlphaFold implementation that reduces compile time from ~4.5mins to ~30 seconds! We've confirmed the results are identical for both monomer and multimer predictions. Try it out! (1/2)

DNA origami is a great activity to do with your family over the holidays! Who says DNA isn’t festive? My origami here looks unique… just like everyone’s DNA! Find a printable form for this DNA origami and instructions here: go.usa.gov/xeM4A

Citizen science can contribute HEAPS of quality data. @FrogIDAus is now up to ~440,000 expert-validated frog records in <4yrs. And look at this quality call recording from FrogID - one of many being used in bioacoustics research.

Perfect timing for the peer-reviewed pub... we're having our students use Trycycler during a semester-long Microbial Genomics course. Excellent work @rrwick and co!
Genome Biology@GenomeBiology

Trycycler. from @rrwick, @DrKatHolt & co, generates a consensus assembly from multiple input assemblies from long read sequencing of bacterial genomes. Errors are generally in a single assembly, so get averaged out. Polishing can improve the assembly more. genomebiology.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…

Some of the best resources I came across for intuitively visualizing #NeuralNetworks (how they transform data and classify stuff). With these resources, Neural Networks will be no longer black boxes for you'll. A thread 🧵
