Just days ago, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was shot and killed by ICE in Houston.
We cannot sit by and let this become normalized.
It's past time for ICE to be held accountable.

this was bonnie tyler performing total eclipse of the heart at the grammys in 1984. she said it was the most nerve wracking experience of her career because her lips were dry throughout the performance and she struggled to get saliva in her mouth which made it difficult for her to sing. she still gave it her best shot and sounded better than 99% of the music industry

To be clear: ICE shot and killed a man who was not their target. He had no criminal record, was seeking legal status, & was pushed off the road by unmarked cars.
There’s “no body cam footage”, his family can’t recover his body, and the witnesses in his van have been detained.

Lorenzo Salgado Araujo called Houston home for 35 years. On Tuesday, an ICE agent shot and killed him. His family learned of his death from a video before anyone bothered to knock on their door.
New York City stands with the Salgado family in demanding a full, independent investigation and real accountability. To the Salgado family and any immigrant family in this city living in fear: we grieve with you and we will continue to stand beside you in the pursuit of justice.
