Android now has a feature called Ai call assist. I enabled it and when a call comes in, the AI assistant pops a button up asking "Screen the call?" I press that button, it goes to an AI assistant asking who the caller is and what their business with me is. 99 times out of 100 they hang up. I can still see the number they're calling from, which is often spoofed, and I still have the opportunity to answer if I recognize the number. It's very effective , and they really get pissed off if you answer after rejecting their call about 10 times. It's almost entertaining.

@preta_6 The latest iOS version has a very handy feature that asks an unknown caller to verbally identify themselves. It’s effectively eliminates 100% of my spam phishing calls.

Every day, everyone I know is getting 4-5 spam calls or calls from people overseas saying they’re with Telus or Rogers. I hate these parasitic spammers.

@IAmJeffMcCulley @preta_6 Do not call registries are useless now since the invention of robo-calling programs and their ability to spoof the number they are calling from. The number you are registering is not real, or it is real, someone's private number, and it's been stolen.

@preta_6 The US has a National Do Not Call Registry. If companies call numbers on that list, they face a huge fine. Which, iirc, goes to the person they called. Not so Canada?

You just revealed your own stupidity. Trump's tariffs on Canadian products don't get paid by Canadians . They get paid by American importers of Canadian products , that get passed on to the American people when those products are sold . This is the way tariffs work. Educate yourself and don't be so ignorant.

This is bullshit. I lived there. As a Canadian, I moved there in 2019 to go to school in Ukraine. Why? TO LEARN RUSSIAN! There was no "persecution of Russian speakers" or banning of Russian. Russian was everywhere. I had friends in Donbas, Russian speakers... If you were law abiding, no problem. Stop believing this fabricated lie.
