A few takeaways from our event: 🌟 Today, YouTubers are the new stars and studios, making every cultural moment bigger. 📺 For more than two decades, we’ve focused on staying one step ahead of how the world watches. Today, we’ve been #1 in streaming watchtime in the US for 3 years. Over 2B hours of Shorts are watched in the Living Room each month. 🏡 We know that to keep viewers coming back, we have to build the best possible home for our creators. So we’ve invested in the infrastructure they need to thrive, from pioneering the creator economy to scaling their reach with auto-dubbing to unlocking AI-powered video creation tools. 🍿 For the first time at Brandcast, we brought advertisers an exclusive look into our new slate of YouTube-exclusive Creator Shows. The future of media is being built on YouTube, and the most exciting part is that we’re just getting started.

At last week’s @MilkenInstitute’s Global Summit, I joined a panel about the future of the entertainment industry with moderator @JBoorstin. We talked about how @youtube has a unique seat at the intersection of technology, the creative industries, and the largest creator economy ever to exist. That creator economy is booming and is incredibly entrepreneurial: right down the street from the most storied studios, @youtubecreators are the new startups of Hollywood, employing hundreds of people. #MIGlobal

Today, we’re excited to share that TAAF’s 5th annual Heritage Month Summit is coming to New York City on May 14-15! The 2026 Summit will be TAAF’s largest and most immersive gathering to date, bringing together 1,000+ leaders to spotlight our community’s most pressing challenges and celebrate our 5th anniversary, the 35th anniversary of AAPI Heritage Month, and 250 years of American independence. This year’s theme, “Together We Are the Asian+American Dream,” is both a reflection and a call to action, honoring AAPIs who have shaped American life across every generation, while challenging us to imagine what the next 250 years holds. At our TAAF Awards Dinner, we will honor trailblazers and visionaries including Neal Mohan, Ke Huy Quan, Jeremy Lin, and Sheila Lirio Marcelo. Summit will also include powerful conversations on how AAPIs have made strides in food, entertainment, technology, sports, fashion, and military service, featuring bestselling author Min Jin Lee; Olympic athletes Sunisa Lee, Chuck Aoki, and James Williams; storytellers Daniel Dae Kim, Tan France, Auli’i Cravalho, Isa Briones, Chriselle Lim, Ty Sanga, Harry Shum Jr, and Lāiana Kanoa-Wong; beauty and style trailblazers Daniel Martin, Jason Wu, Jeanne Yang, and Vera Wang; and many more. We uploaded our first video to YouTube in 2011 with very little understanding of where that decision would take us. Over the next decade we experienced a lot of ups and downs trying to turn our creativity into a career, but the one constant was that we never stopped pressing publish. On May 28th at the Fox Studios Lot in Los Angeles, 500 creators and people from traditional Hollywood will meet and talk about how these worlds are colliding and where the industry is heading next. April was an absolutely massive month for live streaming on @youtube, from @NASA's Artemis II mission 🚀 (which accumulated over 79M viewers) to the iconic stages of @coachella 🎡 None of this scale would be possible without our infrastructure and engineering teams. For years, we've built technology to deliver a consistent, high-quality live stream experience to our viewers around the world, no matter what device they are on. To make the live streaming experience even better, last month, we launched Gifts on horizontal live streams (in addition to vertical) and in more global markets, dual-format streaming, and ad-holding during peak moments. YouTube has become the lens through which we experience the world’s biggest cultural moments (and beyond) in real-time.
