Argentina have an absurdly one-sided VAR record at the World Cup: zero interventions against them and the highest favourable decision rate among the semi-finalists. England have the worst VAR record of the four teams. England will be up against Argentina + VAR in the semi-final.

@PIGFYNN I’m not asking for a World Cup in America every year. Just once every four years

FIFA should just have America host every World Cup. Where else in the world do you have this many elite stadiums in cities capable of handling such an influx of foreign visitors? And it lines up with the American football offseason for easy conversion to soccer for the venues.

The hatred for a potential expansion of the World Cup to 64 team for me seems... Odd. 64 is evidently better than 48. Having 3rd place teams progress is evidently flawed, & advantages those in later groups. 64 teams is excessive, but a choice between 48 and 64 seems clear to me.

England is the only country to ever win the men's World Cup that doesn't share a land border with another country that has won a men's World Cup. Norway and Morocco are the only teams left which could join that list this year.

Cape Verde putting a lot of other countries to shame in this tournament. In their four games so far, they have played three champions, including the reigning World, South American and European champions, and not lost any of them. Superb.

FIFA would do well today to put out a brief and simple statement saying, the USA-B&H officials did not abide by the proper VAR protocols and wrongly awarded Balogun a red card, and thus the one match suspension has been voided. Will they do it? No. But they'd be right to.

@BBCSport For the folks who don't think it was a dive, this is where Kane actually started to go down, way before the GK contact you're pretending took him down

DR Congo targeting the vulnerable right side of England’s defence, Spence in particular. What does Tuchel do at the break? Hook Spence, push Konsa right, and get the experienced Stones into c-b? Or keep the faith for now? Needs more protection from Madueke. #ENG

The thought occurs that England could have selected Real Madrid’s right back, but preferred a guy who is not first pick in that position at Spurs.
