MAJOR STUDY FINDS: "Imaginative play is not just recreational but a foundational developmental tool that supports long-term mental wellbeing." LET'S STOP REPLACING IT WITH SCREENS & ADULT-LED ACTIVITIES! neurosciencenews.com/pretend-play-m… H/T @sambmd #LetGrow

Virginia is quietly setting up to mandate all 6-12th graders be screened for mental conditions annually—will push HUGE numbers of kids toward to mis- and overdiagnosis. @ALegalProcess —who spots more scary details in legalese than anyone else—writes how bad it is. @CityJournal

The stakes couldn't be higher. Teaching a new generation how to think—not what to think—is imperative. I wrote about what higher ed must do to meet this moment in the @WSJ. on.wsj.com/4q8Yw5x

THANK GOODNESS! "In a survey of more than 1,600 parents, 82% agreed or strongly agreed that the benefits of tree-climbing outweigh potential injuries." @RichLouv #stat-sheet" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">childrenandnature.org/finding-nature…

Goooooo, KANSAS! Sunflower State becomes 13th to pass Reasonable Childhood Independence law! It is NOT NEGLECT to take your eyes off your kids! Thank you, Gov. Kelly and Sen. Chase Blasi! #LetGrow!

Nothing like the imagination of teenage boys. They can't manage to keep their rooms clean, but they can come up with and execute this perfectly. 😂😂

Online, Ari, 14, found new "friends" who urged him to cut himself and eventually slice pentagrams and upside down crosses into his chest. "The first few times Ari cut himself he was so upset afterward that he told his mom, Dana. But when she reported the cutting to his therapist, Dana says the response was, 'So many kids are self-harming that we don’t necessarily raise it to an ‘emergency level’ unless they have a plan to commit suicide.'” What finally saved Ari? His mom. Therapy. And, he says, a flat tire on his bike. My piece in today's @NYPost (no paywall!): "One mom fought back against online radicalization—and won" nypost.com/2026/04/12/opi…
