@stephentyrone We went with a 6-yo in 2015 and had a great time. Memories include playgrounds along the Seine and in pocket parks, the Jardin des plantes, all the food.

@thatbilloakley Hi, Bill! Sorry to have been such a dork just now but it was nice to see you in Woodstock (and around the Internet, as always).

@steveriggins I can totally see how it is inconvenient for certain usage patterns! But the few times I have received unsolicited drops they were… unpleasant. So personally I would not mind.

@steveriggins I have no idea, but I do know it’s annoying to forget that I changed to accept from anyone.

@integerpoet I don’t own a car but if I did it would be a ketchup and mustard convertible (yellow paint, red upholstery).

Evangelizing the Switch Witch concept for you east coasters (passed down to me from California native, @shancarter) 1. Kids bring home candy 2. They pick n# pieces to keep 3. The rest is for the "switch witch" 4. In exchange for the bounty, the witch leaves the child with a toy

@danielpunkass You have to be extra careful, a Canadian could be in your midst and you might not even know it…

@nedley Wow! And I didn't realize that about her. Weird rules around these infrastructure things.

I'm scheduled to tour the Deer Island sewage treatment plant next week, and I'm unreasonably excited about this!

@danielpunkass Years ago I went on a public tour a Department of Energy site… my wife couldn’t come because she’s not a US citizen!

Interestingly, signing up for the tour required consent for a state police background check. They mean business! Don't mess around with Boston's ... business?

@rosyna @geteero Yikes! Me, on the other hand, I actually offered to pay for basic features that I would have gotten for free from another system and this is the thanks I get…

@nedley @geteero What truly gets me is that I didn’t even know I had the service until I got an email saying they were increasing the price. Turns out when I tried to sign up for it 3 years ago and the app told me I wasn’t eligible because it was in bridge mode, it actually signed me up for it.

Fun fact: If you’ve got the $30/year ⁦@geteero⁩ secure for some reason but can’t use it (router disconnected or in bridge mode), you can’t unsubscribe using the website and will be bumped to the new $99/year plan automatically. theverge.com/2022/10/13/234…

@integerpoet @tdierks I used to spend a lot of time in the audio world and still have a overly expensive DAC in my living room, among other things. But as far as digital cables are concerned I happily use whatever I find in the drawer.

I'm considering forking BoringSSL to deliver an audiophile-grade TLS implementation, with AES that won't muddy your timbre, a soundstage-expanding record layer, and zero-distortion X.509 validation. Of course, such devotion to integrity doesn't come cheap.

Does anyone know if Final Cut Pro version 7 is supposed to support (Unicode, OpenType) Indian writing system fonts (specifically Gurmukhi)? Since it is an Apple product, I assumed it would use CoreText, but client (on older Mac OS) is reporting errors. @nedley

@steveriggins I meant the ones I have aren’t coated. I will keep an eye out in the future, though.
