Hey guys, I am writing this as a call for help. As a fellow trencher myself, I don't normally beg or ask, but I feel like it has come to the point where I'm genuinely desperate. Recently, my 6 year old Rough Collie, Ranger, was diagnosed with Stage IV T-cell Lymphoma, a rare form of aggressive cancer that is extremely life-threatening. He has barely lived through half his lifespan and I really don't want to see him go. Without treatment, he only has a few weeks left to live. After seeking advice from his veterinarian and oncologist (a specialist of cancer), we have been given some hope that can prolong his life. With chemotherapy, my dog will be able to see another living day. Unfortunately, pet healthcare in Australia and treatment fees are extremely expensive, having been quoted up to $40,000 AUD for the entire round of chemotherapy. This is not including the $11,000 AUD we have had to already spend on his scans, blood tests and hospitalisation, a massive financial burden with my husband stopping work. Everything can be all shown on record below with bills and his diagnosis. Ranger is my baby. He has been the foundation to my whole family of 7. A loving and caring dog who empathises and comforts you when you are sick. A dog that brightens your day when you are down. Everyone always says a dog is a man's bestfriend. Initially, I thought this was pure cringe as I never had a dog myself, until we got Ranger. This news has been absolutely shocking to the family. Just a week ago, Ranger was a happy and healthy dog, running almost 8km a day, eating well and spreading joy in everyone's heart. Now, he is lethargic, barely eating and walking, having lost almost 6kg across a span of 5 days. It absolutely sucks to feel helpless. Feeling not in control. As someone who has dedicated a lot of my life to crypto, I know there is good in this space. My sons have created a GoFundMe below. Ranger is currently on a plethora of medications, and is now stabilising in our home. Here's a quick video of him! I'd also just like to clarify that the shaven areas on his body were for pathology testing, including biopsies, blood collections and IV drips for stabilisation. It breaks my heart to see him go through such intensive care.
